What's the latest word in Big Red land?

 

Everyone thinks Frost is coming. We literally have no backup option. It helps that TO is up here and is the person he respects in this world more than anyone outside his parents. And NU has always been Scott's dream job.

 

I remember some mag (SI or Playboy or something) touting Mark Harmon on its cover as being that up-coming season's Heisman Trophy winner. Didn't happen by far. The poor guy had to settle for being a TV star.

I would take all those guys before Taggert and Strong...and I'd move Mullen down to 10 just before them.

Yep. There are a ton of reasons NOT to come to UF. There are probably fewer reasons to come. Hence why we need to step up to the plate financially and wrt control to lure proven coaches. We continue to roll the dice hoping to get the football equivalent of Donovan though. Maybe we'll roll 7's again one day.

 

Hope Chip Kelly is watching the SEC network they are featuring The Steve Spurrier story and Florida's Glory Days..... Foreshadowing.

 

My love of UF is based on the years that I spent there getting my degree. It's based on fun times then and afterwards, going to football, basketball, baseball and other sports and cultural events. It's a love of the campus, the great professors who taught me, the dorm life, off campus housing and parties, and making so many great memories.

It's strange how winning football games was a bit more fun than losing them, but every game has been fun. Aside from a couple of years here and there, our football, basketball, and baseball teams are far better than they were when I actually attended.

I guess my love of UF isn't really tied to season records and championships.

No worries. The problem was Toledo lost the team. He inherited a loaded roster but slowly got exposed. It was under his watch the program withered into mediocrity. Any coach with that 98 roster would have blown away Miami and won the national title. Instead, he blamed everything on his players and coordinators without taking responsibility. Once a program slips, it’s vital to search for a new coach quickly before mediocrity metastasis.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too. Hope you guys change things quickly. I’ve always liked Florida, definitely more than FSU. Plus Tom Petty and Heartbreakers are from Gainesville!

 

I would go after Gundy or Holgersen before Strong or Taggert.

Just lol @ being so butthurt over other random fans behavior.

I admit though, it is hard to like a university with an excellent (self funded) athletic department as well as academics good enough to get a top 10 ranking among public universities. If only UF could coddle failing coaches more maybe we could keep crl as a fan.

 

My Love is tied to my memories. My frustration is tied to recent history. Hopefully the return to prominence begins on Sunday.
