Uh I think they show up at a lot of schools' career fairs.

I graduated in '96. Glad I'm not trying to get into UF now. With my grades and SAT score, they'd politely tell me to look elsewhere.

I have a friend and fellow UF grad in VA near DC and in that area UF not considered anything special academically. His daughter had a perfect score on SAT. Went to Va Tech for engineering. With schollies she made money going to school. Could've gone to Ga Tech but they wouldn't offer a ship. I don't think she even considered UF.

The reason Major tech companies show up to the career fair (I show up as well) is because of size and academics. But that does not correlate with reputation

I work in an agency with 10,000 engineers and scientists. Uf holds its own here. I’m not impressed with ivy leagues.

Exactly. Florida is still known as a football school although I do sensed at times that folks might feel sorry for me

Va Tech is known for their engineering programs amongst others. My inlaws have 4 kids, two went to George Washington for Information systems and two went to UF. The one that got the IB diploma went to Florida and made about $1,000 a month in income. I can depend on where you live too.

Not saying there aren't better academic schools out there than UF, but try looking on the bright side once in a while. We can stomp those schools ass in football. Get you're priorities in order. He who dies will the most crap is still dead. Try enjoying life.

Thanks, I hadn’t heard anything about his time in Minnesota so I assumed I wasn’t setting the world on fire. But I assume that most ppl saw the work he did at his last place and will give him a year to get his system to work.

I’ve got to imagine that the contract extension is because they’ve had ppl contact them/him about his availability. I agree though that if he signed the extension then it seems like he can be crossed off.

It'll take a decade given full effort and the competition isn't going to quit advancing theirs

I am an outsider to Gator football. I view you guys as an absolute sleeping giant. I think you guys and Texas have a lot in common. Both with the right coach will be very good.

As I see more and more coaching names thrown out there, here is my list in order.
    1) CK, most likely
    2) Frost, probably not happening
    3) Campbell, Legit shot
    4) Mullen, Likely a No
    5) Kevin Sumlin, yep I said it. Has beaten Saban and has held his own in the West.
    6) Norvell, Legit Shot
    7) Leach, yep said him to. Bout to go to the PAC Champ. Game.
    8) Brohm, not blown away but has done well with Purdue
    9) Fleck, similar to Campbell
    10) Miles, beaten Saban and always played them tough.

Hoping for CK, but Ton of options this year. Much different than any other time we were looking for a coach.

In the early 80's most UF engineering disciplines were in their perspective top 10's nationwide. Haven't paid too much attention about the rankings since them.
