One thing we all must be careful of is continuing to assume Stricklin/Fuchs are operating in the same way Foley/Machen operated. The guy I saw get up at the podium didn't seem like a guy who ISN'T committed to FOOTBALL winning and being enjoyable.

If Foley was our AD I'd probably be on board with the skeptics. Then again if Foley was our AD, Mac would still be at the helm.

i disagree. There are ways to disagree with the premise of this thread, that Chip Kelly buzz is Hot, a done deal, etc without insulting Tilly and BTG, who I have never seen resort to the same. Also, you took the idea that we won't land Chip Kelly and decided the sky was falling:

Hypothetically speaking if we’re reaching to lower on the list of candidates because CK and Frost don’t work out and others say no, I think Kiffin is actually a pretty sensible option. He’ll clearly say some troll shit that will make us interesting to follow again, if he wins then we did well, if he loses then no love is lost on firing him. Seems like a good midterm commitment.

 

I 100% bet this is how it went down. If he backs out now that is not on the AD, he just wanted to go somewhere else and he can have whatever reason he wants. Move on to plan B. The part I HOPE is done is we were already setting up plan B. Look, Chip and Frost worked as boss and employee for a couple of years. The way it works in the real world, they talk. It could have come down to "if I don't come, I will talk to Scott and make things right". Who knows. I just came back to work for an old employer and it was a 5 minute conversation on the phone.
