that might be true but in my opinion Mullen would be an excellent backup plan - any guy who can keep a historically terrible program like MSU in contention in the SECW for nine years has proven he's a great coach. I'd rather have him than any of these small school guys like Norvell, Taggart or Fuente whose names have been floated around.

but anybody we get not named Chip Kelly is going to feel like a major letdown, unfortunately.

Ha that is true but you compared Taggart to Mac. I just don't think they are very similar.

also I believe we are getting Chip...

No he isn’t. I was just pointing out that first year record alone isn’t an argument that I think carries much weight.

You could look at Taggart’s first year records at WKU and USF and call him a failure. I look at his entire tenure and call both cases a success.

No he isn’t Saban, but Saban wasn’t Saban his first year either.

Saban won a national championship at LSU so he was a proven commodity at that point. Taggart’s claim to fame is going 10-2 at USF without even a conference championship. His resume is closer to Mac than Saban.

well maybe we should just take our rambling ADD inspired entertainment topics to Too Hot. Not the first time I’ve had to take it to another room and I don’t think this anxiety inducing but nothing sandwich of reporting is going to get better over Thanksgiving. We can talk ad nauseum about the noise and very little real info and give ourselves ulcers and send our liver into spasms, or we can blow off steam in between with the varied topics that I think many have enjoyed. It’s also not like we haven’t done this before. I remember many epic threads.

    RIP 29th Street
To be fair, he's 0-6 on the season; he came out of a five year retirement midseason to replace Sean Kugler, who resigned.

Tebow would be an absolute first. The first head coach that I know of at a major program to be hired with no coaching experience at all. But he's so unique, I think that with a strong staff he would succeed. It would be a home run hire in a completely unexpected sense.

But of course this hasn't even occurred to the UAA.

I think you can actually find it if you dig out there enough, but I think we will be able to summarize what went into all of this when completed. Yes. Remember again. I am no insider with deep sources, just enough voices telling me the same thing.

This morning was the first time I noticed the Gator tattoo in Myakka's signature pic. The pic itself was never missed, just to clarify.

Not sure how you formulated your timeline.....but UF was flying to sit with Kelly within 3 weeks of firing Mac. Considering all that goes into the process that us a very aggressive timeframe

Ron Zook and Muschamp could recruit...both have WAY better career winning % than Taggert. FACT is, if you can win at UF recruiting isn't really hard to do. I want a guy who can WIN and for me Taggert is a plan Q at best.

What about Bill O'Brien? He was good at psu and I heard he was wanting to go back to college. Fits the SOS saying he's with his team now field

Yes I know he is a turd of sorts but the dude can recruit , coach , and irritate other fan bases like no one else. Kinda reminds me of another guy that coached here who was pretty good
