I feel your confidence. I just wish I had something definitive to go on other than trust.

Can we just agree as a fanbase to stop saying “done deal?” It just makes anyone using it look stupid. This is a person making a decision and no one really knows what he’ll do except him, until he officially signs.

I hear you. I don't know what condition UCLA's program is in but there is some work to be done here. Down 30 ships we are like a team hit with severe scholarship limits. The culture has to change, and we may see new faces on both sides of the ball. It's a rebuild.

Actually, I believe the misinformation may be coming from our UAA and Kelly's agents offices. Remember the Sharty Skidmark himself said not to believe anything you hear in the media.

If you believe what we have been told here, the issue is that Kelly can't be head coach at UF until after the regular season. There can't be any definitive evidence out there that this is a done deal.

So the best think to do is plant doubt. Make it look like both UF and Kelly are in negotiations and that no deal is done, and it will probably continue right up until the announcement.

If the 49ers can show real evidence that there was a deal in place before the regular season ended, they may seek to withhold some or all of what they owe.

If everything went totally quiet on both sides, they'd probably suspect and try to prove the deal was done. So the best thing to do is make it appear the negotiations are still going and nothing is decided.

So Kelly's agents probably "leak" that they visited UCLA the same day our group was in NH, which has been refuted and that he's talking with other schools. The UAA probably "leaks" that UF is talking to other candidates. It's all, I believe, intentional disinformation being masterfully orchestrated by both parties. They are using the media against itself.

I don't think it's causing any issues between Kelly and UF, because it's probably them putting it out there.

This is just me thinking out Loud but Landry was hired to do some consulting work for uf on this coaching search. He admitted this in his podcast. I don’t know if UCLA has also asked for hs services. Anyways, he’s also admitted to putting “news” out there at the request of a university or AD during past coaching searches. So, someone could have told him to leak this meeting chip and the UCLA

    Inside your head.
I don't know the quality of the UCLA football facilities but if the Rose Bowl is any indication they aren't first class. I take your point about Foley's lack of commitment to upgrading our facilities. This may have been the reason Fuchs made the trip to New Hampshire. He may have been there to give Kelly the vision of upcoming upgrades to our facilities and assure him that these plans will be put in place soon. It must be quite a feeling having major universities courting you like this.

I can guarantee Lane Kiffin will never be the head ball coach at the University of Florida as long as I live.

If Chip falls through I want Taggart before Frost

He could get us back to where we need to be, and we rebuild this program. Fits his skill set

Hope we dont miss on Chip though, still staying positive, but staying positive means I'm believing in Florida pulling off the most elaborate rouse in coaching hire history. I will continue to trust the people more connected than I am, but I'm scared guys.

This thread got a life of its own and the rules were relaxed a little bit. One day we will wake up back in reality.

Right. So you refuse to consider anything not said by someone with UF ties in this situation.

Lookout, your facts and info will rile up those on this board with their minds made up already. CK may not be going to UCLA but based on the rumors changing from it’s a done deal Saturday night, to the smoke we are hearing now possibly means CK to UF won’t happen.

So, I'll start out by saying that I still think we land Chip. However, nothing that comes out between now and Saturday is going to be positive for us, whether accurate or just a smokescreen. Following all of the rumors like a hawk (as I've been doing) is only going to negatively affect my well-being from here on out, so I am personally taking a step back from all of this until then.

Good luck on taking this thread to 1000 pages and beyond.

    http://www.onlygators.com/11/12/201...ker-candidates-tracker-updates-news-analysis/

    9:52 p.m.:
LandryFootball.com reports that Chip Kelly’s agent met with UCLA on Sunday, the same day Florida flew to New Hampshire to meet with Kelly himself. It also notes that Kelly’s meeting on Tuesday with two senior athletic department officials and the Bruins’ heaviest donor “went well” The discussion with the Bruins appears to have centered around donor commitment and Kelly potentially having the necessary funding to build the program he wants from multiple standpoints.

Chomp: Landry is quite plugged into this industry. Kelly’s agent meeting with UCLA on Sunday certainly debunks prior reports that the sides had no legitimate contact at that time. If this report is accurate and Kelly’s primary concern regarding UCLA was its financial commitment, there is a case to be made that may have been his lone reservation with the Bruins. UCLA bringing out the big guns in Casey Wasserman, the founder of the former megapower management company Wasserman Media Group, is a massive revelation. If Wasserman promises Kelly to give him whatever he needs to win — such as Nike founder Phil Knight did for him at Oregon — Kelly-to-UCLA may be more real than anyone believed 24 hours ago.
