Ok, narrow steep stairway, that was definitely it. I swear that was Balls upstairs in the early 90s. Salty Dog was a great spot too. Porpoise would be so crowded most nights, over flow crowd would lead me to the Dog. They had a decent Cuban sandwich and black beans and rice at the Dog too. I used to run over there for lunch every so often.
