I think you're reading too much into something that's basically coachspeak. If Kelly is the HC, they'll be looking forward to productive conversations in the days ahead. If he's not yet the HC, the same is also true.
That could mean several things. He could be referencing more discussions with Chip and his agent, a discussion with the media during a press conference, or discussions with other potential coaching candidates.
Players, commits, prospective commits, several on this board, GC writers, all believe it is a done deal. I tend to agree, My 100% confirmation has not replied to me as of yet so 99.9999999999999% CK signed. On a side note my wife plays softball And has been known as CK, her initials for years. Since this thread I cannot call her CK, just wrong.
If you want to make a splash, you make the splash. You don't announce it on a tarmac in Ocala at 11 on a Sunday. Stricklin is the guy responsible for getting the NCAA to ban using hashtags in end zones. Anyone remember "#HailState" back in that 2014 season? He's all about the splash. Before everyone goes into mourning, let's let tomorrow play out.
That's Twitter for you. Everybody screws up on Twitter, from the President of the United States right on down.
Someone else said this but it is right: This is our Urban / Notre Dame situation. We pitched our best, now Kelly needs to chose where he wants to go. At the end of the day, regardless if Kelly loves UCLA, if we lose out to them it is going to look really really bad. They are not on our level when it comes to football programs. Hell, we closed Urban and ND was his dream job.
Both Fuchs and Solomon Striker were on that plane today guys, if you think they went up there to just hang out you're insane.
What makes you think they either couldn't close it or they pulled out all the stops because they felt they might lose him?
If the house and senate bills come together and a new tax bill is signed into law this year, state income tax will no longer be a deduction, at least that's what the present tax bills state. People who pay state income taxes throughout the USA won't be able to deduct them. BTW, on of the bills gives a reduction in the middle class brackets of .5%, 1%, and .5%. .5% reduces your taxable income by $5.00 for every $1000.00. That'll save you lots of money, oh yeah, and BTW, on $30,000 of taxable income that gives you $150.00 extra per year. Wonder if people will save or spend it? You tell me. I also wonder why this breakdown of savings hasn't been a bigger news story. I know that if I were a member of Congress who opposed this bill I would talk to the press about it. Oh well...
The other possibility is that Chip Kelly was the one dicking around all along, and UF just wanted to make one last push to get him tonight, now that the UCLA cat is out of the bag, and they got turned down. Many possible scenarios here.
And if they didn't come back with his autograph thenn its not the greatest news for uf, not saying that it might not happen, but the longer this goes the less chance it happens. You're right though with them going up it should be to sign.
Well that the problem. If it was a week ago it would be a different story, but we waited until the day UCLA officially came open. So now there is no reason for CK to at least not hear UCLA out. Which best case scenario we delayed and opened the door for UCLA.
