Why get to Gainesville at midnight when you can sleep in your own bed and fly up in the morning and still easily make an 11:30 am press conference?

 

Really. The guy publishes an immediate clarification, and that’s horrible journalism?

These guys don’t just pass along every rumor they hear. They only put stuff out there that they can 100% confirm, and if they get anything wrong, even a little, they go out of their way to correct it. That’s why they are so much more quiet in these situations than the web sites.

In the end Stricklin has done nothing to warrant my skepticism. He's kept things super tight. Went for the big fish in the pond. Worked things out behind the scenes and then went there when it was needed, and kept it mostly quiet until he was already on the ground up there. He gets how this works. And this is a huge hire, but also show for the program to give. Not to mention a very complicated contract with a top guy who will want all things ironed out before signing. Only an unproven guy would agree to a deal and work out the details later. I am glad Kelly has gone for what he wants, and won't sign until its all worked out satisfactory to him. I want someone that demands the best, and is meticulous.
