NFL is a totally different beast when it comes to coaching.... Just ask Spurrier how he did in the NFL... But as a college coach Spurrier killed it. I'm hoping and expecting the same with Kelly
Idk, I think he's a good HC.... but that's an average UM team that he got spanked by. One game comparison isn't fair, but idk enough about him personally.
chip just doesn't do it for me... if he is our next coach, I'll fully support him and be glad it wasn't strong, Mullen, or taggert..
Whether or not the potential hire of CK works out for UF at least we can say our AD understands the level of expectations Florida fans have. Also, SS will have shown the ability to deliver our wants hopefully we aren't disappointed by our wishes and broke from chasing them. Landing CK wouldn't be splash hire it would be an in your face cannonball to the rest of college football.
I found out because I wanted to place some money on Chip.... lol. thought about it all day and regret it now
I totally agree with this. Whether or not it works out no one can say SS didn't go out there and get a huge name.
I understand it. Doesn't make me the happiest gator. (Unless he goes 12-0 while beating everyone by 21 or more. That's all I ask. )
Yep. It’s by far the safest pick for SS. Tons of upside with little downside. Kelly is the only hire where SS won’t get blamed if it doesn’t work. But SS will still get the kudos if it does work. From his vantage point it’s a no brainer
This would be an absolute home run for UF if its true. Would think it would be announced relatively soon right?
While I understand that failure is possible for anyone, I just can't see how Chip will fail. The best college offenses have taken from his scheme. He was successful running his offense in the NFL (until he blew up his own team by getting arrogant). He's not cut out for the NFL, but I think he's a brilliant college coach (just like Spurrier, Saban, etc.). If Chip is 100% in (and I think he's too competitive and egotistical not to be), we'll win. The guy has instant credibility with recruits, he'll have everything he needs to build a dominant team on both sides of the ball, and he already has credibility with assistant coaches.
