And if/when it happens you're going to find some excuse to justify your skepticism (bordering on vitriol, to be honest).
For those that remember, the UCLA spin feels just like the ND noise right before we got Urban. I hope this is the same thing. I remember though, we all thought we were getting beat to the punch, ND had better connections, money, etc. How did that work out?
So you're saying I should believe it? I mean we're only 0-7 on done deal posts. Not sure when that became an acceptable %
The guy on Twitter who originally "broke" the rumors of Chip to Florida probably a week before anyone else says "UF has sent a plane up to New Hampshire where Chip Kelly lives to supposedly get the contract signed." Of course, your best bet is to not believe this
I'm not being disrespectful but this collaboration of inside info has been at best spotty, second hand info from all sources combined. I know it fans the flames of self importance to appear an "insider" but I think it would be difficult to find where the providers have maintained the "deal", which it may turn out never existed, could also fall through.
You would think common sense would prevail on decisions like grabbing your horrible OC for another gig, but Lumpy brought most of his bad news bears staff to cocktown so...
I feel confident that Mac would hire Nuss again.... he doesn't think Nuss was the reason our offense sucked.... he thinks our players execution of the plays were the problem
Im not speaking on GatorCountry exclusively here. Internet as a whole Twitter 247 Rivals GatorCountry Reddit In some form or another some "insider" has claimed its a done deal and been reported as so since Monday. Yesterday the "done deal" report came from some criminal defense lawyer or some completely random person you wouldnt expect to actually have any inside information on Florida football
Maybe a bit of perspective on the done deal stuff. I can write a proposal for my company to spend $x on a project. The leaders that have to approve can do so in principle. Then there is normally a number of days/weeks depending on how much is being spent to get all of the paperwork signed and have the ability to announce the project. I have said before that the agreement is made, the deal is done, etc to the appropriate people (insiders) but won't announce it formally until everything is signed. This process is what keeps me hopeful that CK is still going to be our coach.
I prefer to believe we do not have a deal in place, that WE are being slow played, and that we probably do not end up with Chip Kelly. I do this to protect myself because I hate being letdown. Poor life strategy, maybe. But I also hold out hope that if not Chip Kelly we get a good coach and end up pleasantly surprised in a couple seasons, possibly feeling like we were lucky the way it turned out.
