I've never appreciated the hilarity of that play. To me all I saw was a great defensive lineman Wilfork blowing up an offensive lineman back into a ball carrier (who happened to be the QB) causing a fumble.
Certainly if this was all just a figment of our imagination, he could have denied it, and stated he was not interested in the job. He didn't, nuff said.
Cool! See anything yet? I just sliced up 2 lbs of roast and am marinading it for jerky. The 2.5 lbs I did on Friday is already gone. Four teenagers can do some damage to deer jerky!
It was special to many here because Tebow was the back up, and despite how bad Butt Fumbler was, he wasn't going to get a chance. That play was the poster child of the anti-Tebow attitude at the Jets.
Do I remember correctly that earlier in the season Lemons hinted he might transfer since he wasn’t getting playing time? Being he has got some playing time now late in the season and the possibility of Chip coming to our rescue do you think he will stay put now?
Im pretty sure it was General John Sedgwick, a Union officer at the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse. I think he was killed by a Confederate sniper using a Kentucky long rifle. https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/John_Sedgwick
Actually, it was a union officer with his back to the confederate army, admonishing his men "stand up and fight! They couldn't hit an elephant at this dis...." Then his head flew apart. Confederate sniper. That union officer has a statue on the campus at West Point. All the cadets rub his boot before an exam for good luck.
I think watching him play made me wonder why the hell we didn’t use him the rest of the season? Ball handling looked a little suspect but he could follow his blockers and move fast in space. As a returner I thought he’s been garbage but at HB I was pretty impressed, even adjusting for the fact it was UAB. He could have had another 80 yds rushing without penalties.
Check out the Buddy Martin show on Facebook. He’s giving insider info regarding Chip Kelly to FL. It’s almost two hours long and I’m only 15 minutes in but sounds promising so far. May cancel my planned call to UAA tomorrow if we’re getting this done.
Lemons was referring to getting his redshirt applied after the new grace period...something to the effect of his last game (before getting shirted the following week). He's not going anywhere and will be a great fit. Malik/Lem are a great fit for Kelly's O. Perine will be the hammer in situations, but the other two are likely going to carry the bulk.
I don’t know what’s more ironic, the way he died or the fact that students think he would bring them good luck after the way he died.
Malik blowing up early means you save one of the freshmen for class progression. Odds are had more to do with picking up blocking assignments/playbook early for MD. He also apparently balled out every practice early, so Lem was odd man out. Only so many carries when Doug "3 and out" Nussmeier is calling plays.
