Whew....take a few hours to do something else and you have 50 pages to catch up on. I hope Stump Sequoia appreciates our zeal. I have faith this finally ends well for the good guys.

 

I think the announcement might come after the F$U game. Shannon and the players need to focus all of their energies on beating the Criminoles and nothing else. A new hire now could distract them from this goal.

On a side note, there was a lot of smoke for many days about Meyer taking the OSU job in 2011, but it was not confirmed until they had completed the regular season. The same scenario might be playing out now, too.

 

It makes sense, but if true, they've done an unprecendented job of containing leaks to the media.

 

I’m really not understanding the disdain for this thread by some who think it should be 10 posts long with factual information that doesn’t exist by the way. Best we got is second hand by Tilley, Bowie, BTG and Bazza which we appreciate by the way.

I could see an administration talking themselves out of announcing it sooner (even though an earlier announcement might have be better for recruiting).

Maybe, maybe not. SS did insert himself into the recruiting picture and may feel comfortable with what he’s hearing from the recruits so it may be a non issue.

 

It's better not to leave. Nothing is more important than this hire or just thinking about it. Unless the house is on fire or something.

There's been a lot of joking around because there hasn't been much news. So we've been having...wait for it...fun.

 

I mean the difference between announcing before or after the f$u game is really a non-issue for recruits. It's the early enroll deadline which I think is in December that is the big issue.

The class has held steady at #10... I think we've only lost one guy so far... which is pretty phenomenal. Great job by the current staff and SS.

Eh, I see both sides. Can understand people enjoying both the fun of this thread AND wanting to access info as it breaks by seeing it in additional condensed formats. These days people shop multiple sources and formats for news ... some with entertainment and some without. (Compare Fox News and the Wall Street Journal. Trolling both does not imply disdain for one).

 

Is there a dead period before the early signing day? If so that’s what we should be concerned with.

Not sure if Im late. Apologies if so. But I just got a notification from ESPN about Chip Kelly responding to rumors About him being a candidate for the Florida job.

First he jokes that ESPN was trying to get him out the door. Then he praised our school and said whoever gets the job will be fortunate but that he was in Connecticut and new Hampshire at home...never in Gainesville (that was in reference to airplane tracking)

He never outright denied he is a candidate though so unsure what to think. But it the sort of denial coahes always do where they are not 100% clear the answer is no.

That said, best case this means he probably isn't anniunced today. worst case he is off the table
