Exactly. Stricklin would be an absolute idiot not to quash rumors of Kelly as coach if it wasn't happening. Outside of Frost, any other coach would be a complete disappointment with the absolute viral nature this whole thing has become.

 

I disagree. "It doesn't seem <spelled correctly, BTW> that he would want to coach in the SEC..." Huh? How can you draw that conclusion from any empirical evidence? You can't. "...he has no intention of being our coach..." Again huh? "doesn't seem like the kind of team player the UAA is looking for...? Huh 2.0? Team player, what? This guy runs a program his way. Nutrition science, tempo, scripted practices, etc, etc. Not sure what you mean by team player? Like Saban, or Belichick, who hate interviews w idiot members of the press, yet they W I N.

Let's review:
- no denials of interest from either party
- rumor <agree it's only a rumor> that Kelly indicated interest to UF first, as part of the Frost vetting, which means he's interested
-in terms of delays, there could be a million reasons why there's a delay - doesn't mean won't work out

There are a ton of legit reasons for the timing of any announcement - it only seems like a "delay" to you, because you're thinking checkers instead of chess.

It won't happen. Agree with others. Even a few years ago when I was posting it was loads of fun. Then every other post it seemed was "cant say that", "against rules", no cursing (funny it's allowed in game threads/swamp section), etc. The explanation I heard often was similar to in this thread - people check the Pub at work, there are kids on here, etc. So people got tired of it. The babe thread gets modded plenty though it looks like the rules relaxed a little there.

The difficulties in posting pics nowadays (which wasn't this hard before) hasn't helped.

One of the other lines I heard a lot back then from folks was "there's other sites for that". Yep...and a lot of posters took their ball and left or at the very least cut their posting.

So now it's a very vanilla, sanitized, G/PG Pub.

Yep, can control whatever we want when we have them but definitely not when they're around other kids/friends.

 

I don't buy the thought process they would wait till next Sunday because of distractions to the players if this is a go with Chip. What the hell do you think is going on right now with the players that are not graduating. Do you not think they're not wondering what their future is and who their coach will be every minute of the day. How they will fit in to new schemes. Shit as fans we have all watched a thread all day long looking for a temperature change. Not to mention hanging on to the great recruiting class we have. There may be delays for other reasons like Chip's current ESPN job or NFL buyout or HBC contract negotiation. The last 3 or 4 weeks have been a distraction I think everybody is looking for answers including the current players.
