Its a little premature to suggest there is no NFL talent on the defense. I dont think you quite understand how damaging having no depth at LB is to a defense as a whole. We had two potential studs at LB suspended for being idiots before the season started and lost both starters to the draft last year. Reese is good but slow, Johnson took a step back but then again, they both looked great last year and Shannon was their position coach, so which is it? Is it because he is the DC now or no longer the LB coach? I would use Shannon's track record over a one year sample and its foolish not to. The last time he was a DC was at Miami and they were dominant year in and year out. He has always recruited well and produced NFL talent everywhere he has been and he is one of the most respected men in the business by his peers and bosses. Keep the guy.
