Guys the smoke screens were already done when Stricklin had every media person that covers the Gators talking up every single candidate except for Kelly. Look at them all Dooley, Buddy Martin, etc. etc. they were saying from the start everybody else but Kelly.
Sorry I have been radio silent for like 2 days but seems like all my sources and system has been silent and hiding. I still think Kelly is the guy just working through a lot of details such as salary in first couple of years when San Fran covering some, and probably most importantly how many Gator Club meetings he has to do vs. what Spurrier can do for him. There are a ton more things you all know the rest.
Just a rumor I heard from one of the other voices in my head. As of this morning the Patriots are disbanning, Bellicheck will be an assistant head coach, Brady is retiring to be the qb coach, Wade phillips will be d coordinator. Grier, Lundy, Olsen and Deacon Jones for D line coaches. Al saunders for o coordinator. Emmit smith, running backs coach. jerry rice will coach receivers, dwight clark tight ends. And zooker for special teams. Prime time db coach. (he's rebuking that he was ever a semihole to get the job) and all of the Hogs are coming back to coach the o line. Just what I'm hearing guys.
Not in this situation, the longer it takes, the less likely its Chip Kelly...I hope it is, he has been my top choice since the start....but if I am honest, I'm betting it isn't happening.
I know but I just had to see what was in the paid area! Not that the job itself is even close to being on the same level as the Gator's job, but who else is worried UT might back up the Brinks truck with Harbaugh type of money to pull CK?
My quess: Frost, Mullen and maaaybe Strong were the top choices. Stricklin began early vetting Frost and one of those sources was Chip. During the vetting Chip may have mentioned his interest in the position. Stricklin then became at least somewhat interest and started vetting Chip per reports. Part of the vetting or Chip was getting SEC commish blessing which by all reports he did. That's basically where we stand. No more. Just due diligence being done for all candidates. Stricklin isn't being "stealth" or keeping secrets, theres just not much going on right now. He's waiting for Frost and Mullen's season to be over to speak with them. Anyone think this is more realistic?
