More plausible would UF offer, Kelly sat on the offer with no answer.

 

It's a big boy game. Other option would be to not pursue any candidate you aren't 100% sure to get. That would narrow the options quite a bit.

 

Bottom line I feel is CK signed where he had guaranteed money if he chooses to leave, for whatever reason. If they gave him a no clause buyout then they will feel the pain of that in a few short years when he decides to head elsewhere.

 

And where he has two NFL teams in his backyard.

 

Yep UCLA will be crying in three years when CK leaves after only having won a single national championship. We sure showed them hot to handle big time negotiations.

I haven't ever felt this low for our Gator football program, barring a hiring miracle, with no exaggeration, Gator football is done. And done I mean, possibly like a Syracuse football program the last 15-20 years kinda done.... This is looking really bleak and I honestly hate being a Debbie downer but I have a bad feeling about our future. This feeling doesn't just come from the Chip Kelly debacle, but the overall feel of the program for the past 8 years and only seems to be getting worse. However, I'm happy and thankful.. Forever Go Gators!

Shout out to @wingtee - you were dead nuts spot on with your skepticism of Kelly. Right from the start you vocally opposed the hire and many of us including me passionately disagreed. You were right my man.

 

I don't know of a tool to allow you to do it aside from fairly expensive screen scraping business apps. I just wrote a quick and dirty script to do it specifically for that GatorCountry thread (though it can work for any thread on GC really). The way I did it was incredibly inefficient (lazy) and took about 15 minutes to scrape all 1134 pages this last time.

And yet for the last few days I was put in a vacuum??? I thought I was banned for life . I would have hated the thought our brethren not being able to read my cheerful and positive posts. They will be under NCAA sanctions for recruiting violations by then.... yea that's right I am now officially the Mayor of Hater Island.

 

This will be like a test of hires, the way it was when Michigan hired Harbaugh and we hired Mcelwain. That debate is over -- Harbaugh was hands down a better hire than Mac. Two blowouts, better records, better recruits, etc. Harbaugh for the win.

Now it's Kelly vs. Mullen. My money is on Kelly. He's elite, and, let's be honest, Mullen never has been anything better than middling. One can dream, though. Let's see what the recruiting and records look like vs these two. Shouldn't take more than 2 years to really have an answer.
