There are some that could/would make an argument that JF told SS to hire MW, so the answer is, both. Let examine when was the WM hire made and who was the AD at that time? I ask seriously!
Yes, he did. I can keep telling you these are coaching issues based on my vast experience of seeing bad offensive coaching, bad schemes, and evaluating QBs, but it's pretty clear I'm not getting anywhere. Our QBs all failed under Muschamp and McElwain (except arguably Grier). Almost all went elsewhere and looked good or even great. At some point, people have to stop blaming the players for why that's happening.
And what I'm trying to tell you is that the major issues that Franks has are all attributable to our lack of quality coaching.
Hate to say it...Franks shouldn't be on the field the way he is playing. Two years of prep and this is the result? Throws more pick-6's for the other team than TD's he throws for us. You would think he would have developed, and learned over time. Can't say that he has done either.
If true it makes more sense to me why this fell through. You can’t accept a lopsided contract no matter who is on the other side. Can you imagine the uproar if we had to fire Kelly for doing something unethical then still had to pay him a buyout. People would have SS’s head for negotiating a contract like that.
My question is this. Is Striklin the ad or first assistant to Foley. If the aau is the reason for delaying or chasing kelly off then its pretty apparent. Time will tell .
Well we will both see down the road. I will be rooting for Franks and the Gators and hope I am wrong. I do not want to be right on this to be honest because we are not in a good position at QB. I will be on the board and tell you I was wrong.
I wanted Mac gone a long long time ago. I have no problem with the firing. I’m talking about the appeal of our job on other candidates. If we give the appearance that we try to weasel out of buyouts when the coach doesn’t work out then clearly that has to have a negative perception.
We have Allen and maybe Corrall. We'll be okay if he's not the guy, but I think coaching will make a big difference for him.
Gator Fred. You still haven't talked about what you think is going to happen. Please enlighten us with your prediction of how this will play out. Stop dodging the question.
I don’t think it was weaseling out, Mac violated his contract, and should face consequences over it. What happens if the next coach pulls some crap like Petrino did at Ark? Should we guarantee him his full buyout? No, that would be fiscally foolish. Contracts are drawn up to protect both parties. Both should be committed to each other.
Hi perspective Coach! Come to UF. We will say no to all your assistant recommendations. We will say no to your facility requests. Embrace the “No” Good luck Coach!
What I think is going to happen is meaningless and no more useful than any of the insides. I would be happy to discuss what I would like to happen. But I don’t buy that you ar sincerely asking. My Grandpa use to say ‘wish in one hand and ‘spit’ on the other and find out which one fills up fastest’. There has been a lot of ‘spitting’ on the this board the last few weeks.
Actually I am very sincere. If you read through my posts you will see I am not a basher. I may have a different opinion, but am not an ass
