I'm not sure I totally buy that as a deal breaker. Chip having to keep some of the current staff that is...I remember hearing that Randy was guaranteed a position within the UAA if he was not retained by the new coach as an on the field coach.

 

I cant believe SS would be that arrogant to think he could dictate what assistants CK had to keep. It is very hard to believe that happened. I call BS on that.

 

I just expect the UF Admin will make another CRAPPY coach hire.

From there he goes after the best candidate he can talk to directly while the other candidates are still actively coaching. What's wrong with that?

Unless you were in the room when the UAA made some sort of idiotic decision, you're just speculating. Could be that Stricklin reached his limit with concessions to Kelly.

Is it possible that some recruits were sold on certain coaches remaining..and CK said he need absolute control. If all of this was to keep RS on staff, then the UAA totally got played.

 

RS seems to love coaching the kids though. I would think he'd choose to go elsewhere and coach.

 

Now that UCF is in the AAC championship game I suppose we have to wait for that game to be played to see if Scott Frost will sign with the Gators.

 

I didn’t want SOS back. I didn’t feel it would turn out well and didn’t want his legacy tarnished. Also, we had the opportunity to get Urban. My stance might have changed if there weren’t good choices, but all the same, I don’t think second acts work very well.

 

they better mortgage the farm and get this done. I wanted Frost but we went after Kelly and we can't whiff at this point. Way too much to lose from a perception standpoint now.
