I don't need to be gaslit, especially on a Saturday night
Got my girl and a bottle and I'm feelin' alright
Her and Johnny Walker black, holdin' em both tight
Like Jimmy Walker said, it's out of sight and dy-no-mite

I pray and hope it’s false allegations. If so then prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.

if allegations are true, then same.

You have to prove defamation just as the accusation has to be proven against him (in a legal sense).

Hopefully he has some receipts. Can show his account was hacked or someone tried to extort him? If stuff against him ends up proven, then in a way that would be defaming the accusers by accusing them of defamation, which just makes it all far worse.

This shouldn’t be rocket surgery. If he’s “cooperating” fully then surely UF’s lawyers would have full access to the Instagram history and could seek records. Including anything he may or may not have deleted or if his account was compromised in any way. Maybe UF has something that gave them confidence… guess we’ll see.

I wonder how many witnesses they have to Golden on campus or hanging out on University Ave taking pictures of women. I imagine he would at least wear a disguise.

For Title IX investigations, aren’t there strict confidentiality restrictions? So who went to the Alligator?

I understand that Rioux uses one when he wants to blend in. I wonder if it works.

I believe Title IX requires an investigation. If even the most dubious claims have to be investigated, that might be why everything is supposed to be confidential. Just think if this investigation determines Golden is innocent. How do you undo the damage to his reputation, the damage to his career and the the inevitable toll on his family?

    Instead of overusing:
    Trucks

    Blanket

I jest, actually like some country music.

If he is suspended or fired as an innocent then damage is done. If he coaches as usual and investigation clears him then he'll be ok.

Family is another matter we'll likely never know about.

This is why the alligator should’ve respected the confidential nature of the title nine complaints. Then, if the complaints were dismissed, nothing would have ever been said about them.

I had firsthand knowledge of the Alligator when I was on the Florida track and xc teams in the 80s.
Dubious reporting with a reckless disregard for the truth is the best way I can describe them.
I know it was 35+ years ago but if anything journalism has gotten worse not better since then.

having said that I have no idea what’s true here.

Agreed. None of us do. A reckless disregard for the truth and, worse, a history of reckless disregard for truth can = $$$$$ though. Does anyone know who/what owns The Alligator? If it's the University of Florida . . . also performing the Title IX investigation (which I'm not even sure of) . . . hmmmmm, the water is suddenly murkier. I'm not going to write a novel but there's so much I can't get over. Several of our litigators will raise things in due course, I'm sure.

Jack, what you say is 100% correct. Spomebody violated confidentiality. The options are UF, Golden, the accusers or someone involved with the accusers.

There is 0% chance UF or Golden leaked the story to the Alligator. Maybe there is a very small chance that’s a disturbed UF employee leaked it, but unlikely.

I suspect the accusers or someone on their or her behalf leaked it. A possible reason might be dissatisfaction with the way the confidential investigation is going.
If the University or Golden breached confidentiality, there are penalties. What are the penalties if the accuser breaches confidentiality?

It seems to me unfair and violative of at least the spirit of due process for a confidential, unsubstantiated as yet complaint to be leaked and for the accused to have to remain silent.

Make the whole thing public and lets see what everybody says.
