Sounds like he's denying it and pursuing a defamation claim. He probably knows how it will be perceived if he has nothing to back his counter claim, so I must assume he feels he has something.
His text wording is careful to avoid mention of Title IX and specifics, so he is aware it might violate law if he does.

 

The plot thickens.... The word "defamation" clearly indicates that his camp thinks and has the ability to prove that this is a fabrication.

 

Yes, and I hope this turns out to be a couple of gold diggers and there is nothing to it.

That said this needs to be investigated very thoroughly because we also have a duty to protect our students. Just because I want our basketball team to be successful doesn't mean at the expense of UF students.

 

I can almost guarantee it was written by his attorney or at least read and approved by his attorney. I would expect nothing else.

I want to trust that if admin saw any post, text, Pic, anything with any credibility that he'd at the least be suspended already.

Not a rumor, documented allegations that have officially been brought forward and that are worthy enough to be investigated. Look..you clearly have an agenda here to defend this..you do you.

 

Yeah, unless something new has come out I don't see how you can suspend him now, and him coaching these games while under investigation is not going to be fun. Well, innocent until proven guilty they say.

A comparison to Larry Nassar is wildly premature both from the current information we have and also based on the gravity of the accusations being leveled. Cyberstalking adult women does not even remotely equate with decades of sexual molestation and rape of underage girls and young women by their doctor, and the comparison is irresponsible.

 

OP said since there were no "rumors" for 15 years then likelihood of current allegations being true is suspect. Pointing out the fallacy. No axe to grind. The allegation should be taken seriously and people coming forwarded should be given the chance to be heard...like I said, wouldnt surprise me if other things come forward.

 

We'll if he's innocent he can coach with confidence and a clear conscience.
