    Bottom of a pint glass
Biden should just start removing tax exempt status from churches when they speak out on political issues.

Exactly right. And since Disney was the only company currently enjoying that benefit it made it easy. Good corporate attorneys should have known this. I suspect that Disney has good corporate counsel, so that leaves a high likelihood that this was done against legal advice.

I respect your field of legal practice, but I think if you put your ideological preference aside, the state had all the cards here. The smart business move would have been to quietly make this all go away which I am sure that DeSantis wanted as well. Disney would have kept their mouth’s shut and kept a hell of a lot of money for the next 50 years. They are going to need it. They’ve got too much competition now in the theme park business to do stupid shit like this.

That's not correct. If the law had applied only to Disney, it would have been a slam-dunk case. The initial law dissolving Randy Creek applied to some other special districts too.

I was agreeing with you. They revoked the privilege from all. Disney “just happened” to be the only company that was really benefitting from their “special district”.

To be clear, Disney’s special district for all intents and purposes have then control of taxing but more importantly, near total control of how the revenue from taxes that they controlled and levied against themselves were spent. Consider the far reaching impact/benefit of that?

I may change my mind and side with the conservatives here - Universal is American and Disney are commies:

The good thing about Universal is you can buy your way to the front of the line with a very expensive ticket. Just like America money gives you all the perks as you laugh at the peasants in the 2 hour line for the rock n roll rollercoaster or whatever.

Disney only really has the communists fast pass that doesn’t care if you are Bill Gates or Citygator with a reservation system that gives everyone an even shot. So unAmerican.

Oh good. Disney is a capitalist entity. I guess I can go there then.

Framing selective use of First Amendment rights as a poor business decision is ignorance. Perhaps the other Amendments should be approached this way as well? Then we should logically look into the 2nd Amend. next.

Rather pathetic deflection from having a ridiculous stance on First Amendment to "my ludicrous opinion was pointed out by multiple posters ". I suppose that's all you have left. LOL

The multiple poster you refer to has the same opinion as you. You are really out of your league here. Probably best that you take another nap

Poster dug himself a hole and now sees defection as the only way up. Hint: stop digging.

Um, I’m not the one in hole. The state was within its rights and will with stand. Disney was run by morons. Hell, they had to go pay Iger an arm and a leg to come back and right the ship.

Disney F’ed themselves, lost a massive tax benefit, pissed off half their customer base, now they have to deal with a slowing economy. Yeah, that was a well run company.
