For the record I realize a fair number of people who think of themselves as conservatives got the Covid vax. Many of you aren't nearly as strong in math and science as I am. I have a UF pharmacy degree and I was told I had the highest pharmacy college admission test score in my class. I'm sure most of the students in my pharmacy class thought the COVID vaxxes were a good thing.

Scott Adams (Dilbert cartoonist) used to follow me on Twitter. My reasoning for why he should not get the vax was very simple, but he couldn't process it because he placed too much faith in institutional thinking. Robert Barnes and I got on his case and he I followed and blocked both of us.

What I told Scott Adams: The most dangerous part of CV-19 is the spike protein. Why would you take a new technology that makes your body manufacture spike proteins for months or years? I said this to Scott during one of his daily podcasts. My recollection is he semi-freaked out and semi-angrily replied, "How am I supposed to know, I'm not a scientist"?

My hesitancy to take the vax was based on common sense. My brother got 3 shots and his heart rate dropped to 20-40 and would spike to 180. His heart arteries are very clear after years of statin use and exercise. I have little doubt the vax got him.

I understand how people felt the need to take it at the time. But it is beyond clear that this should never been given to young healthy people. But some just refuse to accept that.

Unless those healthy people felt they could spread it to people with dangerous underlying issues.

It is not "beyond clear" at all.

That is just it. The shot never slowed or prevented spread. Birx finally acknowledges that. Now I understand how people fell for the propaganda. But it was a complete lie and Birx/Fauci knew it. Birx at least is now acknowledging the damage done…

And it actually harmed young healthy people. They truly F’d it up!

“It (the Covid shot) wasn’t designed to prevent infection.”

You were lied to. So let’s stop with the idea this shot was ever meant to slow the spread like they propagandized it was…

Common sense looking at Israeli data made it clear. Now it at least is coming from the mouth of one of the people who pushed this crap as they try to help clean up the mess they created.

I'd estimate Scott's net worth at $400M plus. A few years ago he laughed at the internet claim that he was worth $200M. Scott did pretty well for himself.

No need to apologize bro. You do a great job here. Several of my conservative friends got jabbed. Interestingly, almost all my friends/acquaintances that bet for a living took a hard pass. I think when you bet for a living you get away from "my team/your team" motivated reasoning. I was pro-vax until a few days after the 2020 election when I learned that Pfizer had delayed announcing they had a Covid vaccine till after people had voted because they wanted Biden to win. When I learned the vax was based on suspect mRNA tech I went from pro/neutral to anti-vax for me. The vaccine probably helped some old people and people with comorbidities on average, based on a study I looked at. Told my healthy liberal brother not to take the vax (he regrets doing so now). My bro is retired. All he had to do was stay at home and have food delivered for the most part. Now his heart is messed up even though the coronary arteries are very clean. At the end of the day I think we'll find the vax had negative efficacy for the young and the healthy

We have no idea what the spread would be without the vaccine. No idea.

You've spent 5 years quoting obscure sources.

Show me where Dr Birx actually says all the things you claim.

I always knew someone could still be Infected, but if it helps make the infection less severe for someone like my father than I am all for it.

If my symptoms are less severe it can in turn make spread less likely. (Less coughing and sneezing for starters)

I would really like to know the whole context of Dr Birx statements.

Generally I have found the arguments on both sides lacking good faith when they slide into the side of accusation.

FTR, I stopped after the 2nd shot and have only had Covid one time (that I am aware of)...So I am far from someone preaching its praises. I just think the way some of you are so hell bent on dismissing any possible good reason to get it is ridiculous.

She said it this week tilly. She said it as she was trying to explain how we need to fix the vaccine hesitancy issue and acknowledged public health failed. She is at least being honest now.

She flat says public health failed. As I have said it has. I do have a bit of a problem with her still as she knew when they were pushing these drugs on an entire population. It is really frustrating that she waited this long to finally start fixing the mess she was integral in creating. But at least she is acknowledging it now. The video is there for you if you do not trust my context.

I recall before the vaccines were being trialed, seeing some virologists suggest a vaccine would be *impossible* because of how quickly coronaviruses mutated.

I also recall the early phases of trials showed some success at preventing infection. The “real world” results seemed to back that up as there was a distinct and near immediate shift in the patient from elderly to unvaccinated overweight people - with almost no elderly showing up after the vaccine rollout. I saw people talking about that online, and the people I know had the same observation at their hospitals (so I have a few anecdotes that lined up with this overall view). However this probably only lasted 3-6 months or so and was mostly only applicable when the Delta variant was dominant. After that short window it was shown that transmission was still very possible whether vaccinated or vaccinated but the numbers still showed reduced hospitalization for the vaccinated.
