Another plus to the transfer portal! How the team you originally committed to sucks. Hows that working out for the FSU QB? I can't begin to spell his name, is this team #3 or #4 he is on? Didn't momma or daddy ever tell these guys if you can't say something nice about somebody "stow it"? I keep forgetting, Social Media and Gen X,Y, Z no longer adhere to that kind of thing. To quote Dr Dunkenstein - In you face wit disgrace!
Ha, ha, ha, Shannon Snell put Princely in his place: "I’ve seen enough practice alone where coaches were telling him to attack the run. And if a coach told me to drop into a zone as a defender, and I didn’t know what tf to do afterward, maybe my ass shouldn’t be playing football." Former Florida Gators football player defends coaching staff from Princely Umanmielen comments
I’m sure when he watches his tapes he feels like he hast to run to social media and explain why he’s screwing up. He’s way too talented to be out of position every other play and loafing.
It will be interesting to see how he does with new coaching. Even if he excels relative to his time here, it could be that he started listening to his new coaches and plays his role. Though I am not 100% on board with Napier's staff, it's highly unlikely they didn't coach him to seal his edge and stop the run after many missed opportunities. Who would need to be taught that? We will see if he starts at Ole Miss and hope that when he plays the Gators, staff runs plays right past him. Spurrier would.
Exactly, if we are watching TV and we know what he supposed to be doing. He damn sure does. he’s more concerned about himself making a play than the defense, making a play
The worst part is the fact that this occasional contributor left abruptly, after it took years for some of us to learn how to pronounce his name.
you think a transfer would be man enough or respectable enough to keep there damn mouth shut … im sure our coaches could tell some things on them… go on and shut up !!!
I understood your post, and no slight intended at all. My point was only that if a player has under-perfomed expectations, then it could easily mean that he has not received the coaching he needs. He reinforced that idea by praising what he has learned form his new coaches. Others posters have gone further using ad-hominem arguments. Some feel offended that he is happy with what he is learning.
Prince for Slackman? I'll take the new guy because he is eager to get after it on a higher level. He was an MVP of his league for a reason. Even if he is half as good in the SEC, he will still be better than Prince. Prince, like Cox before him, did not want to play defense. He only wanted to rush the passer and get stats. That's been the defense for the last few years. I think Big Cam is the leader this year and will get things straightened out.
Ah I see. I can't speak for everyone but I'd imagine some have seen his penchant for complaining and arguing on social media which may tinge their sentiments. I think the comments aren't seen as just genuine praise for the new staff but a slight on the former given his history. That's all. I certainly can't claim to know his intentions but I can see why some may feel his comments were duplicitous in nature.
I'm sure he meant this as a way to deflect concerns of where he is at in his stats. He tried to pad his pass rushing stats to the detriment of run stuffing. He will be squirming in his draft interviews about his character as shown on film and his social media.
He blamed the db's for him not getting more sacks too. I guess he thinks coverage sacks are supposed to be the norm, not the other way around. Always someone else's fault.
Work ethic and character are recorded. There’s no way of talking his way out of it and he’s not an elite talent that can just get by. He needs to bring it every down to play on Sundays.
Maybe he's bitter and wrong and the coaching was aces. But something was stinking-from-the-head bad last season.
Burning all those bridges for no real reason other than his ego is STUPID. The real reason he did not play at a higher level.
