They hated giving up the SEC but the ESPN $$$ was too much. The SEC on CBS was special. The SEC should not have left CBS.
The clown college has had a ton of luck with scheduling the past 2 years and scheduling Boston College as the lone game at night unfortunately will work out for them again. A night home game against a lousy team the network will hype up will amount to a recruiting video for them. Thar God awful whore chant will be incessant. I can't even watch them play. 330 isn't the worst time for us but a night game against Miami and a win for us would have been great for us. Of course even a win won't matter if the season takes the same late season dives it has the past 3 years. Not that I expect that
HORRIBLE GAME TIME. How in the world is Notre Dame vs TaMU the marque game of the day? UF and UM have lost all leverage with their recent downfalls. Yikes!
I think it was 1988 when we played Miami at noon 1st game and people were passing out before halftime.
Remember when Thursday games were slightly interesting? now we get to see ND State run over a cupcake.
330 is a marquee game time.....go look at the 330 games last season Have UGA and Clemson lost all their leverage with a noon kick?
It's going to be hot as hell for both teams and both teams have players that are use to this weather. This doesn't favor anyone. If this was a team that isn't use to heat then sure that could play some I was wondering why that game is at noon as well. I am wondering if they think Georgia will be walking all over them and the 2nd half will be kinda boring.
We're 69-45 since that facility opened (with 4 losing seasons). I remember how many folks were clamoring for that suggesting we'd need it to be competitive. Since it has opened, we've had our worst 9-game stretch since any stretch that included the 1979 season. I guess they'd say "imagine how bad we would have been without that facility!" Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
It sounds like you have not been to the Swamp... The home side will be in the shade at some point in the afternoon. My guess is 4:15pm. Meanwhile the away side will still be in direct sun for much longer- well into the 2nd half. While yes it will (probably) be horrendously hot, it's much better to be in the shade than in the direct sun.
This is the key. Their players will be in the sun on the sidelines until late in the game. Our guys will be in the shade for the second half. With a noon game everyone is sitting in the sun and with a night game, everyone is in the shade. This is the only start time that gives us somewhat of an advantage. Sucks for the students in the east stands, though.
I don't disagree it's obviously better to be in the shade I just don't think this is going to be as much of a advantage considering both teams are filled with kids who grew up in this environment and teams that continue to practice in this environment.
If they are practicing in the air-conditioned comfort of the indoor facility, they aren't really getting conditioned to Florida heat. I hope that the only time its used this summer is when there is lightning within the allotted range of safety. At least that way it will be useful in that they won't have to dismiss practice altogether.
