The coach allows him to stay on the field in spite of the tape he has put out. The scheme puts them in bad spots, especially with the cushions being given up.

And those plays are called due to zero pass rush + zero talent at safety. It’s desperation to keep the play in front of you.

Comparing apples to oranges if you look at the offenses those UL defenses built their stats on. Our defensive backfield has looked lost all year and yet we have one of, if not the best, DB coaches around. Makes you look elsewhere for the issue. Just don’t know if Tony is the right person for the job.

If you're going to concede those then what's the point? Again, Cox literally had an unimpeded rush on the QB but the pass was still able to be thrown because they are giving them the first read most of the time and 2nd or 3rd reads as well. I'm not calling for heads or being irrational. I'm going to give the benefit of doubt that a CEO like Napier and a staff that values analytics will figure it out eventually although I'd like to see some adjustments a little more readily than what we have seen so far. Here's hoping the bye week is put to good use Ala meyer/Mullen pre Georgia game circa 2005.

You can't perform like we have against USF, EW and even LSU and claim its only talent. Tennessee has a pretty lousy defense and yet didn't have a problem with a struggling LSU team.

Bingo. He was able to get much better talent at ULL than what was on their schedule . That’s not the case here. We need real X and O to go with it.

Interesting that we brought extra guys. Those extra guys help to speed everything up. I keep saying if you let college quarterbacks sit in the pocket and give them time they will pick you apart. Bring pressure a lot and speed up a qb’s time clock.

Yep, talent composite says number 12 overall. A lot of this is scheme. Cannot bring your regular rush. We clearly can’t get to the quarterback rushing 4 and this allows the qb way too much time to throw. Add to that we are 8-10 yards off the ball and receivers are catching the ball in space way too much.
