McClerran reached on fielder's choice, Freeman out at home End of 5th 2 hits, 0 runs 3 lob 8-0 Gators
He’s led two natty winners, numerous other final appearances, double digits wcws appearances, not to mention all the SEC success and international coaching experience. All that said I’m with you lol, start Olivia or Ava. I’ve faith in CTW
True. I’m not privy to the ins and outs of the program. As an outsider I understand Olivia is working through a reset of sorts. As a win right now gators fan I’m concerned about Keagan’s arm stamina going forward. She’s our ace and it’s a long season. If only we had one extra arm. The upside is imagine how amazing and unstoppable these young pitchers will be next season after all this experience.
Need a portal pitcher this coming offseason. In today's game you need 3 reliable arms. I'm not counting on Miller to be capable of producing in year 2.
I will say that the sun angle at Patricia Wilson field is always horrible. Maybe other parks are all situated in a different direction but the sun sets in right field here and is brutal. That said, I wasn't watching the baserunner -- any chance this was a hit/run and she got burned? Or just a bad mistake? Pretty campus, small but very nice.
So maybe we won't need to go portal for a pitcher then? Are we expecting her to be our #3? I see her numbers in high school are absurd right now.
It was indeed a hit and run. She took off as the pitcher released the ball and had her head down running to 2nd. Even if she had immediately read it off the bat, she was still getting doubled up.
I don’t think we necessarily need it, but I wouldn’t say no to it. I feel Brown and Rothrock are far more than “serviceable.” I did think they would be more strikeout heavy, especially Rothrock, but they are both great pitchers. With Oxley coming in next season, they will have 4 arms with Brown and Rothrock being seasoned veterans by then, but a fifth arm would be nice to negate injury concerns.
Not that they won't improve but we need to capitalize on Brown and Rothrock best we can this year while there's not as much film on them. The only thing I can think with starting Rothrock so much... Barnhill always said she felt she pitched better the more she pitched so that may be the case here. Also the amount of inning she'll wind uo with is nothing more than she's used to with a high school and travel season. Just have to have faith in them.
It was so great to meet @Porschegator at Stetson tonight. We look forward to seeing him this weekend against LSU.
I started watching the game, and I'm thinking the field is terrible. Then I believe the announcers said that ballpark is consistently rated as one of the top in the country. I wasn't there, but I just don't see it from the TV coverage.
I prefer the work been done in practice or in games that are already safely put away vs starting and digging a hole or potentially losing a game.
