We saw all their pitchers as well and Ava didn’t throw much. We’ll be fine.

 

With as young as we are on the mound, there’s gonna be a few games like this.
Sucks, but it’s part of the deal this year. Just one loss and hopefully something to grow from.

 

I’ve wanted to see more of her too but apparently they’re working on things with her. Still a work in progress. She could be a late season secret weapon.

 

Heartbreaking for sure but I know you’re with me on this. Rather be heartbroken now than in June!

Seriously, CTW is a smart guy -- there must be some reason for this. Does anyone have a clue what it is?

You are down one run in the last inning. Your nine hole is up, then the top of the order coming up. If either Falby or Wallace gets a single, they will be in scoring position since they'll steal 2B. One more hit and it's game tied.

So with the top of the order coming up, why don't you pinch hit for a sub .200 hitter in the nine hole?

 

Brutal loss and part of it was defensive lapses in the 6th inning. Let's see how they rebound. A lesson in humility and resilience. But give credit to Miss. State. They bounced back from a 12-6 deficit going to the 6th. What an incredible game!!

 

The lineup's configuration is truly baffling. Baylee Goddard, a senior hitting .375 with 5 home runs, should unquestionably be the everyday DH. It's perplexing why she isn't. A simple adjustment would be shifting Walsh to 2nd. This change not only addresses the underperforming current second baseman, who's batting a mere .196 with a 31% strikeout rate, but also mitigates the head-scratching errors she's committing in the field.

 

Didn't to watch after a few innings but from what I gather our youth might have got us in this one? If so I think it'll only help us grow and see our resiliency. Rather it happen now than may.

Very surprised at the errors and defensive miscues in this game. Chalk it up to a bad night for the team as a whole. Make all the defensive plays and we win this game even with it being an off night. Hopefully our team can shake this performance off and come back like champions.

 

Exactly. The Freshman pitchers have benefited greatly from our fielding this year. without it this team is going to struggle.

 

Church Lady from SNL: Well, wasn't that special!

I have a runs conversion to a football score that I've used for years of 1 to 6. Using the conversion, the game was like a football game with a final score of 78-72. The game was special, not in a good way, whether a win or a loss. We may not ever see a game like this again from UF or MSU.

Flush this game and move on.

 

The announcers on the game had talked with CTW about Liv.
CTW said that with all of the run rules we have had, we have lost over 40 innings of possible playing time, and that has stolen innings where he would have liked to get her experience.
I can understand that, but why would he not use her in the midweek games?

 

A lot of those games are the ones that have been cut short. His plans were obviously to lean heavily on Ava and Keagan, and they're both freshmen that need all the experience they can get too. We need a farm team.
