(WBK) UF vs Mississippi State January 22, 2024

There are only a few "team" players on this team...mainly Rimdal and Warren.

We have some ball hogs/selfish players on this team.

 

I haven't seen a game yet, only checked box scores. It seems like we are getting dominated every 4th quarter. Any idea why?

 

We miss Kyle's presence in the paint, but there's really very little ball movement. It's just possession after possession of 1 player getting the ball and trying to make their own shot. And the defense is very inconsistent. They don't seem to work together as a team. They do in spurts, but not on a regular basis. Too bad, because there's a lot of individual talent there - they just haven't bought into the team concept, it appears.

 

Yep, losing Kyle sucks, but they played hero ball when she was available too. It gets worse when it’s late in the game and they’re playing from behind.

When they move the ball around, the offense works well. Right after the first time I posted on this thread, they moved the ball 6-7 times and got Correa a wide open look from 3, which she drained. We have a few shooters who can make the open shot, but most of them would rather run into the paint and throw up a hail mary the first time they touch the ball. Or sprint down the court and go straight to the hole, even with three defenders there waiting on them.

Just settle down, run the offense. When this team plays like a team, they can be really good. We’re not South Carolina, but we can beat Miss State.

 

Get used to this. Most of the teams in the conference are good. The ladies have to bring their A+ every night to get a win, and sadly they don't seem to be able to string together 4 solid quarters.

 

If you aren't playing as a collective unit, that's on the coach.

 

She is learning as she goes. We will be a bottom feeder again in women's basketball.

 

Matharu isnt a PG really, we need a true PG. MGill will help bu we need someone else also. The offense is motion and the girls are supposed to be able to drive off it. Half our team was sick last night, Do you really watch the games or just comment on them? Just asking because I want your opinion of what is missing to you since you are down on them so much.

always interested but we are down our top 2 players with Matharu tonight also, so we are starting to look towards next season seems already. But girls are fighting, but Miss is shooting lights out which they never do.

 

Not directed at me, but I'm not high on this program either. Missing is a quality experienced HC/staff and quality BIGS.

 

Both of our BKB HC's look like teenagers.

 

we have 2 quality bigs coming in next year, will keep Kyle and probably get at least 1 more on top of that. Yes we are missing someone with a lot of experience. But I think I would rather have someone learing right now with enthusiasm who can recruit and this group can recruit like crazy. So I am guessing you watch the games, tell me what is missing during the games then.

I am so tired of seeing you complaining..you still dont have what I asked instead of just whining. Did you not see our best big go down for the year? Then we play without Matharu tonight..I been supporting them since the mid 90s and I have seen a lot worse then this. But cant help injuries and illness. The only thing the coaches could have done better is recruit more bigs which they should have.

 

That is what I am try to convey. People are pointing to next year because of much better recruitment. But things happen to this program like injuries. You can point to a lot of reasons but we have been a bottom feeder for years in women's basketball. The AD's have not cared at all about the program.
