We would’ve said the same thing about TG yesterday.

Not if you are a married coach of a major college basketball team.

I think this is why Napier got the vote of confidence. They have a huge storm brewing that they have to deal with and a football coaching search is not something that the admin wants to add to their plate.

he was mentored by Bruce Pearl

not talking about that do much as UF has had 7 weeks to get to the bottom and as big as this is, one would think they would have used all resources to resolve it and put it to bed one way or the other

I don’t know who Ed KP is, but you have a good point about seven weeks having gone by. If this was a slam dunk guilty verdict, it would seem that Todd would have been fired already. There must be some complexities involved.

The Alligator has a huge staff of young "reporters" to cover things like this even more than the Sun or the Sentinel or the Times believe it or not. Local newspapers are a shadow of what they were in the 70's and 80's..Let's just be glad the Alligator is there to pick up the slack in Gainesville.

Hacker could take pics and send. Hacker could choose coeds known to frequent locations that Golden also frequents. More than wishful thinking? I hope.

Again, I'm not a Title IX expert and @gogators73 has recently litigated similar claims . . . but Coach Golden has rights. One of those is the right to notice of the claims and then the right to hire and be represented by an attorney in responding. You have to give him time for that. There has to be collection of evidence, taking statements (I'd guess), maybe sworn statements, reviewing a history of text messages from the provider and not just what one side wants to give, and then Coach Golden's attorney will want access to that evidence for a hearing there has to be given (at some point). These are basic constitutional rights and Title IX may provide more. An experienced attorney will be booked solid for weeks. So a full investigation and hearing in less than 7 weeks is not really feasible . . . unless Title IX requires some sort of speedy resolution.

Also the University of Florida has to walk a very fine line. I don't know if a Title IX investigator is an employee of the University due to potential conflicts of interest but University attorneys would most likely also get involved and there you have even more calendars to consider.

Lawyering up is smart and not an admission of anything. No outright denial or explanation is more damning in my opinion. Still hopeful.

Michigan State went through something related last year with Mel Tucker, so reading about that story may be informative to understand how this process may play out. The process took longer than 7 weeks, there was eventually a hearing and a report that led to Tucker's firing. In that case the report came out 10 months after the original complaint to MSU's Title IX office was filed by Brenda Tracy.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying Golden's case will have the same results, we don't know enough yet. I'm only citing the Mel Tucker case as a recent example of a Title IX complaint against a prominent college coach to understand the potential process and timeline Golden could expect.

Tommy a still young man surrounded by youger beautiful co-eds won't do things- out of his mind things- to try to hook up with coeds? It's a sad tale told over and over and over. Kiffen, baby Bowden, the Celtics coach last season and on and on. Men risk and lose kingdoms for some tail.
