The ONLY program to finish in the Top 10 in all 39 years of the all-sports standings. https://247sports.com/college/flori...th-nation-directors-cup-gators-202-212191667/
It looks to me that UF will win the men's Capital One Cup. The 36 points from baseball ought to push us past UGA into first place.
And softball didn't even have a normal year of reaching OKC. Imagine if we get football and basketball back on track.
How many games do you have to win to get points in Football? Right now cross country and soccer will produce no points.
Here's how points are determined. dcscoring (PDF) - National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics NCAA Division I: Counts top 19 sports at each school with the following breakdowns:[4] Four of which must be baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball and women's volleyball The next highest 15 sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, will be used in the standings (except men's water polo)[a] For FBS Football: the top 25 teams are awarded points based on their final rank in the Coaches Poll. 26th place is considered a tie between every non-ranked bowl winner, and the next available rank is considered a tie between every non-ranked bowl loser.
Nice to have such a well rounded sports program. Not just a football school. Athletes that come here surrounded by SEC/NCAA Champions and Olympic athletes to motivate year round
I love that Florida has great teams in multiple sports. It looks like Football and Basketball are on the rise again.
UF consistently has one of the best all around athletic programs in the country and that's something I've always taken pride in as a lifelong gator. Might have to wait a couple of years on football. This fall could be tough. I'm in wait & see mode on basketball. A mostly rebuilt team from the portal this season and time will tell how Coach Golden blends the pieces together.
The portal and NIL have really changed the landscape. You aren't likely to recruit guys like Kyle Trask very often, who (while riding the pine) stick with the team through thick and thin and wait their turn. Kids today want to start and be a star today or hit the portal! Really weird scenario for coaches to try and build a championship roster.
