Zelenski walked into a media ambush, orchestrated by disgrace #1, and disgrace #1/2. I'm sure it will play well with his confrontational base. (I don't know how the hyper-alphas can look at Z and T and conclude that yeah, Trump's the real man.)

If this was a movie or book there is no way we'd be one of the protagonists. I'm shocked, but not shocked, in how we've handled this. Disappointing. Exceptionalism be gone!

Trump has cemented himself a place in history . . . like Neville Chamberlain although the comparison is unfair to Chamberlain since he genuinely thought that Hitler would stop with the Sudetenland. Putin has made no attempt to hide his goal of reconstituting the Soviet/Czarist Empire. I would also add that Trump is a malignant narcissist with a need to dominate and to demean his perceived rivals. Anyone notice that he never misses an opportunity to insult Biden and Obama. Trump is also still obsessed with the (accurate) narrative of Russian intervention in the 2016 election campaign.
Good for Trump and JD. There is nothing special about this negotiation. On the nose approach. Some prefer the sugary sweet approach. Get over it. Trump and JD beat him down like an animal. Bad diplomacy approach for Ukraine. He should have deescalated. Instead he tried to be a macho man. He got nothing and lost everything. What an idiot.
