A strength and condition program is a two way street.

You got to have the right guy to implement the program and to motivate the players to buy into it.

You also have to have the motivate players to buy into it.

Let's get real. Not everyone on any team will be eager to hit the weight room, the physical calisthenics, and dietary requires for strength and conditioning.

However, there is one another big factor in this item.

The players have to have the maturity to take on the expectation that they have to buy into the strength and conditioning program.

On the other hand the HBC needs to deal with the players who are not buying into the program.

I think S & C coaches get a little too much blame and/or credit for the injury situation on the field. There are a lot of other factors that also go into injuries, including what your opponents do to you, whether you are delivering the punishing hits or just taking them, pre-existing conditions, and just plain bad luck. But, in the case of Muschamp, it was an extreme situation. Multiple players dropped for the season with every week of practice. Never saw anything like it. There was obviously something very wrong, and, S&C was at least a major part of the problem.

I asked a question why didn’t he hire him first. I didn’t criticize Billy for not hiring him. Second statement is a fact no matter how much you want to deny but we did get left at the alter and had to scramble to find someone. This leads back to question 1 if that was his guy why go out and hire someone else first.

No insults to close with, I’m sure you’re a nice human.

I didn't post a single word criticizing Miles or the fact that he was hired. Nor have I found a single post where Skink criticized him or the hire.

You, on the other hand, criticized Napier for not hiring him sooner, then said Napier got left high and dry, then you cast doubt on whether Miles could do the job. I disliked your post as a result.

You then called Skink and I out and said we should be ashamed of ourselves. Really? Ashamed of what?

This latest post of yours confirms my earlier impression of you.

Entirely fair question to ask, regardless of the push back you received. Any poster with real world management experience, and basic empathy, realizes that when you hire from outside over qualified on-board employees, it can cause problems. So if Fitzgerald was/is qualified, ready, willing, why was someone else brought in? It really doesn't matter now and Fitzgerald is probably capable and motivated. If there's anything S&C can do to help our linemen be competitively strong and a step faster at the snap, it would be great.
