I appreciate your responses. I do find it confusing that you are mad about "White [non Hispanic] culture" not being preserved here yet at the same time, you would consider moving to Japan if they would have you. Which makes it seem that it's really not about you needing to live in a "White culture" per se but something else. I am not accusing you of hating Hispanics, but it does seem like you have a generally negative view of them based upon your work experience. Maybe you view the Japanese more favorably because you see them as harder working and more professional? Do you think you'd be comfortable moving to any other Asian countries? Even if they would have you, what makes you think you'd fit in better there? I am fairly confident that when it comes to culture, holidays, traditions, and especially religious beliefs (if you are so inclined- I can't recall), you probably have much more in common, for example, with Cuban Americans than with folks living in Japan. Not sure where you live but it might be eye-opening if you could meet and hang out with some like-minded Hispanics. Many of them are conservative and otherwise even share quite a bit of your views.

And ESPN stands for Every Sport Possible Network, so its an airtight argument that will holdup in the highest court

Bowling isn't either. I started a thread on here a few years ago "What is a sport?" Good stuff

When I was a kid, there was a bridge column in Sports Illustrated. Every issue, I think.

And poker made it to ESPN. No wonder kids are so confused about their sexuality these days.

When Quidditch makes it, full societal collapse will be on the horizon. Its not a sport if it can be played by nerds.

I was hooked on that when Raymer won the main event in 2004. I thought I was going to be the next big thing! I didn't realize that you actually have to have some disposable income to play poker.

My kid watches video game tournaments, called "esports". I watch is sometimes with her, and I swear, when a team won the tournament, their "coach" or team owner, or whatever he was, compared it to winning the Superbowl...

A least by putting "e" in front they are tacitly acknowledging its not real sports. Just like email isnt real mail.

Funny you should mention that. The 1962 Mets had a Venezuelan shortstop named Elio Chacon who collided with center fielder Richie Ashburn while they were both going after a fly ball. Ashburn was screaming "I got it. I got it." but Chacon didn't understand English. Ashburn later learned to yell "Yo la tengo" which means "I have it." in Spanish. That's what inspired the name of the rock band Yo La Tengo.

It's not so much that as I actually believe I should have been born Japanese or South Korean. Maybe Hong Kong. I don't mean that to say that I am actually an Asian trapped in a white body. I just mean I think I would've fit in better with that society than I do here in the U.S.

Asian societies in general are much more focused on tradition and they value a share cultural bond. Whereas the U.S. is very individualistic Asian countries are more collectivists. They are ethno-states and do not apologize for that. They have a societal cohesion that will simply never be possible in the U.S. simply due to diversity.

All of you talk about diversity as only being a positive. I believe diversity is both a positive and a negative. Probably more positive than negative but I believe many on here try their hardest to not see any of the negative. But I do not view being an ethno-state as a negative. I do not view ethno-states like Japan as being inferior in any way to the U.S. or western European countries that have more diversity. I think there is a positive to being an ethno-state with a shared history and identity. Diversity is a strength at times but is not always an absolute strength IMO. I could see there being times where being a homogenous society would be a weakness but I think more often there are strengths to being a homogenous society as well.

And yes they do work hard and are more professional in general than almost any other race (including whites) but that's not a huge factor for me. To me the only negative aspect about Asian culture (especially Japan) is the workaholic mentality that drives a lot of their men to su*cide or other mental breaks.

I understand that being white I could never fit in to an Asian society, including Japan. I would love to but I understand I would always be an outsider and I respect that. I respect that they want to maintain their cultural identity which includes their ethnicity. I'm just saying I really respect that about them. They do not try to be everything to everyone as the U.S. tries to be.

Plus I just love the Japanese fashion, the more traditional values that most of the women have, the more traditional gender roles in general and yes even a lot of their music, movies and TV shows. But again I know it's not possible. It's sad because I do believe I would have more in common with most Japanese than most Americans. But again I understand it would never truly be possible.

Wow I must say this thread really jumped the rails while I was gone. Maybe we can try to get back on topic somewhat?

The funny thing here, without knowing the actual story, is that dropping them off in GA is spreading the burden, just not where the OP wants. The very point that is being made I. DV and being rejected and in GA somehow it’s valid.
