The blue lives matter crew of police defenders are perfectly ok with that kind of behavior.

I wondered that, too ... maybe he felt guilty about whatever happened to those two guys, and didn't want to tempt himself by putting people in his car. Or maybe he was lazy and just didn't care. The article sort of explains it, saying the feeling at the time was that arresting people for petty crimes was pointless because they were put right back on the street ...

Despicable post. You should be embarrassed. And you fellow left leaning posters on this board should be disagreeing with you but you’re not and they don’t seem to be. Sad.
This says FAR more about YOU than the blue lives matter advocates.

Come on, there's no reason to claim something that absurd.

(I left out the 'no' first time i posted that .. apologies.)

Wut. We’re not talking about all cops we’re talking about the blue lives matter, snowflake, corrupt cops which in my reasonable estimation are about 35% of police forces nation wide (much higher in some departments).

As I have occasionally done, River accidentally left out a word on the post you quoted. He's now edited and corrected his post. You may want to edit yours accordingly. Thanks.

No I understood his missing word and his meaning . There is of course abundant reason to believe this wrt to a large % of cops (those who I’d as blue lives matter). It’s racist on its face.

if he had said a majority of cops I would have agreed with him.

    What’s the sigf
erence between saying a large percentage of cops and the majority. You are just splitting hairs. And you have no proof of your assertion.

There’s a big difference between the two. As an astute observer the only quibble is the %. Between 25% and 35% seems reasonable. The blue lives matter is open racism.but there are plenty who escape scrutiny - like the OK sheriff.

    Again.. no proof.
    As for blue lives matter
It may be shortsighted, wrongheaded and reactionary but that doesn’t make it racism no matter how often you claim it is. It’s just not.

That’s just your opinion. You don’t have any facts to back that up. OTOH in my experience my opinions are almost invariably proven true.

    Well
One could start with the definition of racism. Blue lives matter as a slogan/a group that advocates for police/ neither qualify as racism.
As for your experience with your opinions.. good for you. Doesn’t change a thing. You can believe you are Superman and in your experience maybe you are. But that’s a pretty egotistical self centered way of navigating the world. Of course I. Your experience it probably works. Pretty sure most racist/ bigots use the same logic.

Well this is getting tiresome - “that’s just your opinion man”.

What is the origin of blue lives matter?

The usual suspects here. Just the same as their counterparts who think cops can do no wrong. Truth is somewhere in the middle of course. Well below some arbitrary 35% number but probably much higher than many LEO supporters will admit.

It's funny that someone who claims the number to be 35% also states they would have agreed if someone said a majority were racist as well. So beyond the fact that 35% is an astounding amount of officers given how many are employed in the U.S, they also go on to support an the idea that it may be a majority of them altogether.

None of this touches on the assumption that racism is the problem and not a combination of incompetence, burnout, racism etc. Are just white cops racist or do minority cops account for any bad policing?

Poor, reading comprehension on your part AGAIN (and some strawman arguments to boot). I would have agreed with his post had he said its ridiculous to think the MAJORITY of cops are that way I’d have agreed with him.

But let’s face it there’s probably a bigger % of the force that any any given time are not mentally suited for the job. It’s a tough one and we’re not getting the best people. Black or White. Memphis is the most obvious example but it’s repeated daily.
