Oh, definitely coaching matters. Just meant their BS ability (or whatever "recruiting ability" is) doesn't matter anymore.

I think cash and winning in that order are far above any other criteria.

That part still matters. Nobody has enough to just flat outbid everyone for anyone they want, at least nobody that’s willing to actually do it. Winning, coaching, and recruiting is like using coupons. If you have coaches kids want to play for, you’re putting guys in the league, and you WIN, you don’t necessarily have to be the top bidder. Sure there’s some guys that are simply looking for the biggest paycheck, but the other stuff still matters to more than not, imo.

I think all the other stuff matters if you get in the ballpark financially. It takes an entire package but without the cash, theres no discussion.

May be wrong, but I do not think anyone on this board had seen Rashada's contract (if he actually had a signed one by all parties). Just heard rumors of a 13 mil one.

There was a 13 million dollar one signed only by Rashada posted here. I read it. It’s not executed so you don’t know if it’s legit. Is that his offer, the offer he received, his counter? Totally fabricated? Who knows? But there was one posted that looks about how you’d expect the verbiage to look. The numbers were crazy, but the wording looked about like what I expected.

I dont think UF has said anything to dispute it either. They just didnt want to execute it. Whatever happened to his lawsuit.

Lawsuit ongoing, afaik. UF wasn’t allowed to be involved in that contract and isn’t being sued so I don’t know why they’d comment on it.

You actually saw a contract? Or is that amount just what we have been told... an alleged verbal agreement might have been?

There was NO contract. Verbals do not count. And if a coach (like Napier) cancels a verbal agreement between other peoples, then it's not really a crime, nor is it breach of contract.

If the contract werent legit and it was some kind of fabrication on rashadas end, i dont think we would still be having this conversation. I cant imagine we should be forced to sign the contract. I feel like the kid overplayed his hand and its all his fault. He should of honored what miami offered which i heard was 11 mil although i havent seen that one.

I saw the contract and i believe it was on here. I dont think it has anything to do with Napier per say but the collective got dissolved shortly after the incident I believe.

I never saw the contract. Other people made that deal... This is one of the reasons why I despised that NIL ruling from the start. I was far too legislative and not really judicial in nature... the SCOTUS may have out kicked their purview on that one.

Theres no need to invent the wheel. There are many functioning business models in sports and college football is the worst by far. I love the game but the business end of it has been total shit for decades.
