I think our star was shining bright when those guys inherited the reins. It became a little tarnished at the end of Muschamp era and hit rock bottom with Mullen.

 

You really think all "cheating/bags" are equal? Maybe now they are with no enforcement of how NIL is utilized but florida had to survive scrutiny over Carl Moore's girlfriend being signed as an athlete because supposedly we pulled out all the stops to sign him out of Juco. Meanwhile no one batted an eye over Tua and his whole family relocating to Alabama from Hawaii. I don't think even the biggest Gator homer believes florida hasn't always enticed players here and there with money but there have always been thr blue bloods and everyone else.

If all cheating is equal do we believe florida operated academics the same way say UNC did? I know for a fact athletes get away with a different expectation for class work but I don't believe Florida had completely fraudulent classes set up the way UNC did.

All that is in the past now though. Not too many barriers in place anymore although I think it's pretty telling which programs navigated the transition to NIL almost seemlessy.

 

There is such a thing as being great recruiter, but it sure helps when you've got boosters that will hand over gobs of cash:

 

I bring up al-betar and Alabama all the time. Has florida ever had a link to boosters so openly buying recruits as that guy and his involvement in their program? Like cockroaches. He was just the one people saw when the lights were on. They had a system of pay for play that Saban exploited because he couldn't control the talent acquisition in the NFL Like he could at bama.

 

Exactly this the thought of Savannah being able to close a recruit is ridiculous. His football knowledge and his ability to get players to the next level helped but the idea of him sitting on a couch convincing mom is laughable.

 

You’re right here…we couldn’t tackle at all in the secondary prior to this year!

 

I don’t think any title winning team has done it without cheating on some form. It’s naive to think otherwise. You could argue the scale of cheating but it’s all still cheating.

 

Money floating around back then was chump change compared to what’s happening now, and it wasn’t kosher to shop offers. I’m sure we had some guys giving out 5k here and there, but don’t think we ever had a school sponsored systemic cheating operation like some other schools set up. You’ve heard a great recruiter like Saban say money is the first thing the kids talk about when you walk into their house nowadays and then you hear about it again every time they make a play on the field. We’re not in 2001 anymore.

 

Uf didnt have the bags to compete with the schools that were cheating. Just like the bags turned right back on and all of the sudden Napier went from 51 to 10. He didnt all of the sudden start recruiting better. Its just cashnot recruiting ability.

 

Im sure we cheat too but on scooters instead of chargers. Now our kids can have cars too, im sure it helps.

 

Osu has had talent at every position and if hartline leaves, that will continue. He also a good coach as he has proven but osu would still recuit without him. Its not solely bags but he couldnt do what he did without it. Most not all players go to the highest bidder. Always have and always will

 

Right. On one hand people widely accept that Florida fell behind modern operating procedures but then act like Florids had the same systems of booster support and pay for play as some of these programs the last 15 years. Which is it because it can be both. We were one of the last major programs to upgrade facilities and utilize analysts positions in abundance but we were equals when it came to buying talent?

 

Even great recruiters will struggle if there’s no money. Nobody is saying you don’t still have to be a good recruiter or that you can recruit with only bags by themselves. Money is a big part of it nowadays and it’s the first thing the kids want to talk about.

 

Now that everyone gets to use their checkbook, we can get 5*'s too. What a surprise.

 

Im not sure why people dont believe in curruption. Scooters tell you that UF wasnt letting boosters give the kids cars . UF clearly wasnt cheating on the same level. The top players im sure werent easy to lure with a vespa

 

First thing i want to know too if you want me to build you a shower. Let me see the money. Money is king. No bag, no shower, its pretty simple
