I'm a Florida fan, Purdue grad and Bears fan. There is nothing you could say that I haven't said to myself.
Yep... it is per play, so that must be why they're not even higher. I'm sure there are dozens of types of graphs and metrics showing them up high, too.
Could be a Vol year but the level of competition so far has not been particulaily impressive. Their recruiting has been impressive. We may be hearing alot of Rocky Top the next few years.
I'm not sure what the last laugh means. They are professionals, being paid money, so I don't know why they would even care about what is said about them, unless by former teammates who were upset with them. I don't know whether any of them will make an impact at the next level, and they definitely have flaws, as most cfb players do. These 3 fell into good spots for them. Most of our former players didn't or did at a much lower level. This is just going to be the norm for everybody from now on, even the Georgia's and Bama's. It's free agency on steroids.
Florida fan and Broncos fan here. We'll get through this, friend. At least the Bears have the pieces to make it work. I'm quite worried that the Broncos are starting a 3 year rebuild that won't work because Peyton and Payton are not as good at their jobs as they think they are.
I'm going to stop complaining about underperformance. These changes are going to start getting personal now.
I'm already terrified Caleb is yet another bust. Their OL is also probably worse than UF's. 36 pressures on 42 passes Sunday night, good grief.
It's still so early. This is the first time I can remember there are so many rookie QBs starting right away. They all develop at different speeds and it seems like 3/4 teams have critical issues with their OL. I think he showed some stuff this week. Who knows if he'll be a superstar but I don't think he'll be a bust.
Honestly he wasn't explosive with us at all and never played NT. With us I would equate him with Sapp as an edge: not very explosive, not much speed, just strength and good assignment guy. Lyons was a much higher ceiling guy. I hope he can return at the same level. We have missed him dearly.
Did the SCOTUS kill amateurism in college sports, or are they just making their own rules as they go along?
I agree. He wasn't really a NT, and I thought Lyons out-played him as the year progressed in 2023. It would have been nice to have him to play at DT now that Lyons is out for the year, though.
It annoys me when a politician does things to pander to certain subset of voters (college football fans). Particularly when the target organization tasked with enforcing the rules is a made up of the individual organizations that voluntarily agreed to join! However, if it speeds the death of the NCAA, a most contemptible organization if there ever was one, I highly endorse this move.
Yep, the governor of Georgia is trying to suspend law... and the NCAA from its legitimate job. What a pandering putz.
So true and the very best NFL DT of the last decade was “ undersized”. I liked Mclelland a lot, thought he had good potential to get better too
be too. Dont know why they beefed him up unnaturally last year but whatever smh. Thought he and Lyons had some Dominique Easley in em had they gotten the right coaching
