All you need to know: 97 Green is BEHIND THE DEFENSE!!!!!! Johnsons throw............ Ahhhh never gets old......................
The comparison by fowler on GameDay prior to the game was that the Gators are at the point where it's " batten down the hatches the Gators are coming to town, hide the women and children ala the Miami hurricane teams of old" and then that game happened. I worked at the Texas roadhouse that night with the game on the tvs. Everyone was stunned. Went home and my housemates were sitting in the dark watching TV in mourning instead of the usual party of a Saturday night. That game, Tennessee 2001 and Bama 09 absolutely detailed some potential dominant dynasties. Ugh
…And it was the season with SOS’s 1 loss to UGA. But derailing Peyton’s heisman campaign and pissing on FSU’s championship hopes more than made up for it IMO.
Thank you Antny may I have another............ LOL just kidding. Well you nailed it. I thought 97 would be Ring #2 for ole SOS. It was a pretty tough walk out of Red Stick that night.
Dougie was soooo hot and cold it was unbelievable. I’m trying to think of a post Spurrier QB that was as hot and cold as he was. And by cold I mean, would just throw the most mind numbing ints I’ve ever seen. I would say Feleipe but Feleipe at his BEST wasn’t close to Dougie when he was at his BEST but they are comparable. I still think the 98 team was soooo underrated. That defense was INSANE
Well, getting hammered on gameweek and fixing hangovers with "off brand BC powder" will do that to you... Anyone remember the poll of NFL players who were asked who the most disliked players in the league were? Doug was in the top 3 or 5 despite being a career backup journeyman.
I heard that Dougie was not the most likeable guy, lol. "BC Powder" - Did he "come back strong"??? LOL Hows that Burnese doing today anyway?? Pet em for me!!!
the int’s he threw against UGA in 2018….and the one late in the game vs Miami the following year. Why?!?!?!?! Lol
