Dude’s from Tampa. Not sure the NIL package is substantial enough to make me go all the way to Oregon. I hope Billy can start winning and keeping more guys home.
No, I just don't agree with yours. You insert any competent qb to those uga teams and they win big. He had about as much to do with them being elite as the walkons did.
This is pure silliness... even good QBs have bad games. And you obviously know way more about college football. LMAO! I'm talking about winning two national championships, when it takes more than just a walk-on QB to achieve... even with all of UGA's talented team surrounding him. Yes, I know he was once a walk-on... But you go on thinking that Stetson Bennett had no talent. I think he was far better than the average QB. And he earned his scholarship because he deserved it.
I said he was a below average SEC qb at the time. He would be closer to the bottom now. That is fairly high praise. He was no Burrow, Trask, Daniel's, etc., players who could put their team on their shoulders.
Well, I never compared him to Burrow or Trask and Daniels. I simply said that he was one of the reasons why they won those two Natty's. But if UGA had those mentioned QBs, I suspect they win with those great QBs. And he might not be as accurate as those others, but he was not exactly sucky either. I'm sick of that school, can we talk about the Gators now? Lol... Your mentioning of Trask made me think about what could have been if we had a freaking competent DC instead of Grantham.
I don’t disagree with your overall point, but to credit coaching for that team would be crediting grantham and we all now that’s not accurate. While that group didn’t have a ton of long term nfl talent, that’s not a terrible collection of college player and a lot those guys were at least drafted
Zuniga and Greenard were studs and Reese was a tackling machine. We had a pretty strong front 7 starters, but there was a significant drop off when injuries occurred.
