It was later revealed that Hopper told Hackman, or vice versa, that: "Will either one of us ever work again when this picture is released?

They both thought it was going to be a career wrecker for both. They both admitted they were stunned that the Director and Producers
were able to make magic out of the filming.

Of course it is one of the all time classics, I bet I have watched it a dozen times myself.

This is something I've wanted to bring up for a long time but I always have too much chaos to in my life lately to bring up. Has anyone else noticed how the FB program slipped when the schedule changed from the regular 2 warm up games at the start of the season, then the SEC slate, fsWHO... to a big jumbled up schedule that the mid-tier SEC schools usually do? Of course the added HC hire disasters and the rise of the bagmen at certain "schools" played a much bigger factor, IMHO. But I'm surprised this topic hasn't been brought up more as a possible correlation.
