I can't read the stories in the Den, but you can still see the headlines and they have posted him as being a commitment.
Wow, tommy, I watched a more in depth interview with Brett and his pears. FSU does have issues, Tallahassee is not a media center, so that's no help, they are pissing off everybody in the ACC and when you add it up, they could find themselves homeless. Brett said that if 4 ACC teams each went to three different power 5 conferences, that may settle it, but many things have to fall into place to make that happen. The noles are starting to look like that aging jilted diva chick, high maintenance, with little upside looking for that big hand out. Suitors are winking but walking on.
Do the logistics and finances make sense for another conference? Probably not so much. fsu demanding more than other conference members receive? Takes some nerve. fsu supposedly not aware of the agreement they reached with ACC? No reason for another conference or the ACC and ESPN to change what fsu agreed to. fsu may have overvalued their brand and they do not look like a good conference partner.
I'm surprised to be honest. 24 incidents means that could be a few thousand per athlete but at least it's something. My issue with college football coaches, some of ours in the past as well, is that actions speak louder than words...or fines. I'm all for giving chances and teachable moments. We all have our moments. But if Tom Osborne for example wanted to keep Lawrence Phillips in a structured environment as he reported he could have done that while also not playing him in the national championship game after he brutalized his girlfriend. You don't have to throw away people while holding them accountable. The problem with these coaches is they know it will hurt themselves if they don't play some of these star players. I don't think you send a message one month after the program suffered two deaths with fines. To me that whole Jalen Carter fiasco should have been the end of it and yet 24 incidents later...
There are only two power conferences. I don’t know if there are enough leftovers to make a third if you combine them all.
