. I get it, both of mine made it through Florida so I didn’t have to threaten a third world Caribbean island. But it’s very, very tough these days in admissions.
There is always the back door through Santa Fe…maybe a brief trip during the unrest to Haiti will motivate her to study more and sleep less..doubtful though.
My daughter was mentioning that FSU had a lower acceptance rate than UF this year. FSU had record applications and much higher incoming GPAs and SAT scores than in past. Interesting almost all the kids that applied to Innovation Academy and Pace at UF got in. My daughter mentioned these kids were not in top 10 percent of their HS class with lower SATs and not a lot of AP courses. I looked up UF IA program and it is Spring Summer Program limited to 25 majors with a prescribed minor. UF must not count them in their GPA/SAT stats, as considered Spring enrollment. However, kids could still rush sororities, have special IA dorms, and can take online classes in Fall. My daughter’s friends say IA is the way to get into UF now. Kids that got rejected by FSU got into UF IA.
I got a chance to talk to him once. Nice guy. I was a huge fan of his father’s when he was a NY Giant.
PACE is online for the first 30 hours and to my understanding IA is for the first 60...perhaps I'm wrong about that. We specifically decided that my Daughter would not apply to those programs because we didn't think she could be successful in taking online only classes. She applied for the regular route (although starting Summer B) and did not get admitted. However, she did get into FSU. It will depend on what she ultimately wants to do, but she could get an Associate's degree either at FSU or a community college and attend UF for her upper division.
You would have to see the god awful ketchup and mustard and listen to the whorechant drone over and over...how are you going to survive? A child shouldnt do that to their loving parent...like I said...there is always Haiti community college.
