I am not as sold on his "greatness" either. Yes Texas had a great year, FINALLY, if you ask me, they underperformed prior to last season.
Recruiting is up at UT, no question. Lets see how it works out this year in the SEC. I'm not quite ready to crown Texas with anything.

Coaches' salaries and perks are obscene but not as bad as the CEO's who make 800 times what their workers make.

He was always a talented coach. He just couldn't handle the pressure AND keep his personal demons in check. People can change....hopefully he has and if so Texas got themselves a good one.

While I usually tend to agree with you Crusher, I hope just the opposite, I hope he tanks. No fan of Texas or Oklahoma, and hope in the SEC they are no more than mid level. I do not support either program although I do recognize past accomplishments, of which Oklahoma's is more significant IMO.

Agreed. I don't support Texas although I'm still thankful for 1996. I don't hope he tanks, but do hope they are "Second in the SEC" behind the mighty Gators, like that other UT team was famous for back in the 1990's! :)

800 times? Hyperbole? Not quite 800 times, but close. Average S&P500 CEO makes $14.5 Million per year. Divide that by 800 and you get about $18k/year or about $8.65/ hr for a FTE... higher than federal minimum wage.

So... Coaches Salaries are obscene and JUST AS bad as CEO's at $10 million per year.

Lmao probably some truth to this but this is horrible! Dont we play ole miss next year?? Them boys better have that game CIRCLED

also- isn’t the tweet just wrong? Princelys job was to set the edge MUCH more often than rush the passer? If I recall he graded pretty well for his *actual* role, it just doesn’t translate well to the box score?

Dissapointing Princely went this route. It will just upset people.
I am sure he has his beefs with UF, but I don't see how "airing" it out in public helps him one iota.

I think that’s where you see the true worth of a coach and his recruiting is year three through five. The first couple years is the previous recruiting and you don’t really know much yet. Dumbo up there at Texas A&M stayed plenty Long to prove he was a failure and left no doubt

His stats indicate the true freshmen edge players were better tacklers than him. I do believe he was chasing stats more than he set the edge and stuffed. the run.

One of my college roommates girlfriends used to say how Morrissey was a lyrical genius. I would quote this to her to say he was no Bob Dylan.

I’m glad they like him but that might not be a good thing when it comes to S&C coach. They shouldn’t hate him or anything but the sight of him should give them unhappy thoughts lol. Anyways, I hope he works out (no pun intended) and makes us some monsters.
