Id dance in the streets if we could get the same record Kelly had last year or this year at UF...9-4 and 8-5 pinch me Im dreaming.
That can probably be done by putting Cal, Stanford, ASU, UA, and WSU on our schedule without any more changes.
Well if we played Kelly schedule we probably would have.....3 cakewalks right out of the box last season. You also kinda skip over his first 3 seasons at UCLA....3-9, 4-8, 3-4. Let's add in he's also kind of a jerk who won't interact with fans and boosters.
I didn't even mention Colorado. There were some really good teams in the PAC (that Kelly consistently lost to), but there were some really sorry teams that at our worst we would feast on.
Follow up question, who was complaining that was the end of the world? General response seemed relatively positive.
Generally but there has been a swell of knocking CBN for having 2 DC (like 2 OL). Both Kelly and RR may be overrated for all I know. It will play itself out over the next couple years. I wouldn't be a big fan of Kelly coming here. Some think OSU had pulled off a coup. I don't, but at least they dodged the bullet with O'Brien leaving.
RR is the only one with a former connection to CBN's preferred defensive coaching chain so I'm not really talking about the other new coaches. I see RR as a lot bigger deal for improving us than Kelly to improve OSU, but I could be wrong. Most of the negative has been about the staff he brought with him ,but I have enjoyed Jaluke for one.

Your third-team tailback coming in and saying, ‘I need $100,000 or I'm going into the portal.’ And you're like, ‘Where does this magic $100,000 number come from?’ And it just, I mean, I sat in my office and every meeting I had was basically – and we're seven wins and going to a bowl and taking the next step – but everything coming in was like, ‘I want this. I want that.’ And the greatest team sport has now become kind of individualized. And I went home and was like, ‘Man, I don't know how much I can do because I'm about ready to come join y'all full-time, man. Y’all got room for me back at the studio or what?”
This NIL business is going to be unsustainable in a few years. I don't know what the answer is but it better get here quick.
Hayes Fawcett @Hayesfawcett3 · Follow NEWS: Five-Star Safety DJ Pickett tells me he’s down to Schools The 6’4 180 S from Zephyrhills, FL is ranked as a Top 10 Recruit in the ‘25 Class (No. 1 S) per On3 Where Should He Go? https://on3.com/news/five-star-safety-dj-pickett-names-top-5/
I'm not going broke over it... But... it does make it too easy for players to move around from program to program. That's the part I don't like about it. If we could only regulate the portal transfers... that would solve quite a lot about this NIL business.
Yes our schedule is harder but we lost to Arkansas at home and got absolutely bent over by Vanderbilt with a top 10 nfl qb starting for us We got dominated by a horrible USF team and the stripes bailed us out. You can sell it however you want but you are what your record is and I wouldn’t bet we get 8 wins with that UCLA schedule…
