Remember Jeremy Bloom? He was a WR / PR playing for Colorado. He was also an Olympic snowboarder who was not allowed to sign endorsement deals. He was forced to leave football. Around the same time, Tim Dwight was playing for the Atlanta Falcons and running track for the University of Iowa. The NCAA if horrible.
So, Williams and Waller lost both their D-Line coach and their DC, since signing and enrolling in school??? Too Funny!
It is interesting and had nothing to do with his football talent. Its no wonder the NCAA got destroyed 9-0 in the Supreme Court.
Yep. Nowadays it's all about the Benjamins. Mainly for the parents or whoever the handlers are. Unfortunately.
Sure it's about money and that's fine. Just say so. Forgive some of us salty Gator fans when we find it amusing given his "reasons" for flipping to auburn especially in hindsight when he has said we were out of the running for a long time before signing. 'Culture was a big factor in his decision. He got to see first-hand what Freeze is establishing at Auburn.' “I’m really big on culture and how good people are to me,” he said. “That’s really one of the reasons why I committed to UF, but seeing all the changes they’ve had is really a downfall for me. Knowing that Auburn has really good people and knowing that they have a sustainable staff when it comes to the next 3-5 years is really good for me."
Sometime I wonder if some of these dumbazz athletes really believe what is coming out of their mouths. There is no such thing as stability in College football, and its been that way for decades. Coaches, particularly assistant coaches, change jobs almost as often as I change underwear. The chances of any athlete signing with a University and have the same position, coordinators, and Head coaches for all 4 years of their scholarship are almost zero. I would at least respect them more if they just came right out and said they took the highest offer....nothing wrong with that in this day and age.
Don't worry it'll all be agents and contracts soon enough and we'll look back and laugh at bags, NIL shenanigans and the NCAA.
They are 17-18 year olds that think they know everything but for the most part lack knowledge of anything outside of their small experience in life. Can’t blame them for being young.
I don't know if I trust the SEC'S Sankey to do what's right for SEC football, and not what's best for he and ESPN...his longevity as our SEC Commissioner... or what's best for the NFL. He already got clown stomped on our TV deal with that one network... The BIG commissioner made Sankey look silly.
