There is an air of a UF arrogance “Harvard of the South” amongst the fans that probably doesn’t help.
Agree to a point. We weren't claiming to be the Harvard of the south in the 80s and we were still treated like crap by the SEC. As most know UF was the party school back then. The Harvard thing started in the mid to late 90s I believe but really took off in the 2000s.
True, but you see the arrogance on display here. A lot people act like UF’s shit don’t stink. Plus I hate academic smack talk.
C.J. Stroud gives back to Ohio State as Texans star QB makes significant donation to Buckeyes' NIL collective
I am proud of our academic standards/ accomplishments...I love both...academics and athletics...why can't we be proud of both ? I don't know about arrogance, pride yes
I see it and won't discount it but again, there's no telling how much the history of college football in the 80s and 90s was altered due to our probation. Our educational arrogance was a long ways away at that time. I also think seeing uf lose out on recruits because of academic issues while the same players go on to play elsewhere has fed into fan arrogance. To be clear, I don't see a bit of difference when it comes to our big 3 sports. Acting like our players have some kind of academic superiority over other schools has always been silly. We recruit the same kids
When you don’t have coaching turnover, NFL players more likely to donate to NIL. Hopefully we can have Billy stay awhile. Nice of him to help Ohio State remain competitive
Meh. Degree of study is more impressive to me. No one persons is better than another person just because of the school they root for.
I didn't say that..I said I am proud of my school's academic and athletic achievements..didn't say I thought I or UF was better than anyone else.. Can't one be proud without being arrogant or condescending?
