Norvell's qb have really high accuracy and completion percentages despite some interceptions. He seems to have been beaten out by the younger qb who filled in for him when injured. His big liability appears to be taking sacks. I would expect that a 2nd year under a coach like Norvell the OL problems would be resolved to help his replacement in 2023, but regardless of OL and youth, taking 53 sacks in 2022 was no good.
Or... some of our fans suck for sitting on the sidelines and critisizing the NIL as opposed to stepping up, joining and having an actual voice and actual knowledge of what happens with our NIL. Seemed like the next logical step based upon the prior posts.
We are only taking a few more and next season is a long way off. No need to bust our wad immediately.
Ok but we are obviously chasing some that aren't coming so we've cooled. Not the end of the world but can you argue we haven't cooled off?
C'mon now, Billy is the reason why Napier had to turn over our WR room in the first place due to his WR recruiting the last few seasons under Mullen.
Agree. We seemed to cooled off at the worst possible time with some highly rated players announcing in the last few days. Our rivals are adding players from top programs while we shop players from the Ivy League and Sun Belt. Not feeling the “talent acquisition” at this time.
That’s because you are uninformed. The “Ivy League” guy was coveted by just about everyone. And everyone on here was ready to pitch a fit had we missed on Crenshaw-Dickson & Manuel. Dike, at worst, will be our 4th best option at WR. The staff is wisely passing on the former 5 star guys who cashed big checks on previous signing days, at other schools, who are now shopping for another big payday somewhere else. Many of them malcontents who aren’t starting. Some people are chess guys and others are just checker guys. Both can be fun to play ….but one requires a bit more thinking and planning than the other.
Couldn’t agree with you more about Warner and I actually saw some people on this board not counting him as a portal transfer. He’s our 10th and even though may not see the field much still extremely important to solidify our QB room. I think it was a very purposeful and smart move by Billy. Hope we don’t have to use him or the kid from Colorado State, but if we get both of them And you think about Blackway and Mertz we’ve got a very, very strong quarterback room.
I thought the Ivy League guy scooterp was referring to was Slackman, but Warner was a nice addition too. CBN is doing a nice job in the portal in my opinion. Not going after glitter, but bringing some good players on board at positions of need.
