Great post. It will be interesting to see the state of things in 3-4 years. Prior to NIL, kids were busting their asses to make it to the league and I wonder if some 'hard work' apathy sets in due to the infusion of cash in their pockets.
Good point. But, I still have to wonder about guys getting big bags and how much incentive they will have.
I have a different reaction than most, I am sad for him. If he had someone in his life explain investing, the ROI he could earn on the money he blew on that car could set him up for retiring at 30 if he wanted.
There are Evander Holyfields and there are Buster Douglases. I don’t see how it’s different than any other workplaces.
No, self taught when it comes to not capitalizing on some opportunities when younger to invest in the future...
DM way way better coach than BN. Continue to enjoy the BN era. The only fun I've had watching the Gators the last 13 years were a couple of DM's years. I knew if we couldn't keep him happy we were f'd. And we are.
Boy, you're just a ray of sunshine. Sure, we're all disappointed with the record over the past couple of years. People seem to forget that we're in this mess because of Mullen. I remember in Mullen's last couple of years, there were at least a couple of SEC coaches who anonymously said that the Gators roster was one of the, if not, worst roster in the SEC.
Being a coach isn't only about calling plays. He was a terrible coach who trended a worse record every year. You're comparing his recruiting which was atrocious when you account for who actually ended up on campus and positions needed. His portal additions all but stopped as well after a strong start. He gave us two good years and a frustrating what could have been year I'll give you that.
Wonder what the story is with him. He apparently received offers from Georgia and Tennessee back in 2020, then fell off planet and was ranked as a two-star this year.
