All about NIL. UF admin stated at the beginning that we would adhere to the "rules" despite this being a wild west period where everyone else is flaunting the rules.
whole NIL was completely mismanaged and we were totally unprepared for the majors. Had amateurs running it. People need to lose jobs over this.
“USC head coach Lincoln Riley is still doing what he can to keep the interest of Willis (Texas) High five-star quarterback DJ Lagway who has been committed to Florida since last December.” "He just told me he got off the phone with him," Lagway's father Derek said. "I thought he was done with that. I guess he saw he hadn't signed yet so I guess he'll keep calling I guess." The plan was for Lagway to always sign this afternoon. "I'm thinking it's Florida," the elder Lagway said. "He left out of here and that's what he's saying. He was one the phone with Coach Riley and he's going to get a haircut. I'm just telling you what I'm getting from him. I told him whatever he goes with, I'm going to support him. "I'm telling you I think Florida."
i have only been peripherally following but how could our massive school with its resources, boosters, number of Bullgators, etc etc etc considered one of the top schools in the SEC not be ready and prepared for this NIL era??? How could we start off with amateurs running this?? I am totally perplexed by this. Does Miami have more boosters, resources etc than us? How are they other SEC schools crushing this??? Mcb you like to put disagree and come on ratings, maybe you have insight on this?
Our recruiting class was #3 not long ago and as of right now it's #15. In other words, freefall. The people in charge are not getting it done.
that’s a really stupid response. This is a huge school with tons of bullgators, raging fans, successful and smart people. How is our setup so freaking disorganized and bad?
Yeah... that's not good. Either it's to try and flip him today, or put it in his ear so if things aren't panning out here next year, that he can transfer there.
yeah and Florida with its millions of grads and super smart and successful people couldn’t organize and figure it out? Florida couldn’t be organizing this surreptitiously? Florida state and Miami seem to be doing ok. And that’s with a bozo at head coach at Miami and being a shitty smaller private school.
The schools didn’t organize and setup the collectives. The fans did. Florida law didn’t allow the schools to be involved until last year, which is when the school did get involved and effectively put the two collectives “we” brought to them initially out to pasture. They then got some of their heavy hitters involved to run the new one, which seems to be run much better. I don’t really think Florida Victorious is disorganized and bad. You are allowed to cut these deals on your own though. If you don’t like how Florida Victorious is run, or how they’re handling the money, you are able to broker deals yourself. If you want more money to be spent on specific players, there is a simple solution right in front of you.
F$Us NIL was a train wreck before the law was changed and UM/Ruiz were not state institutions bound by law. We had UF money step up, but all reportedly weren’t qualified to be doing what should be done and UF couldn’t get involved. Thats what happens when your government handcuffs their own institutions.
To put it bluntly, didn’t that just happen to Lincoln with his 5 star QB (and number 1 recruit), his 5 star DB and his 5 star end entering the portal. It’s certainly wild out there. Every coach out there has to beginning about today and down the road. Except BPN apparently, as the forums and fans have designated him dead man walking. But hey, we get to start the 3-5 year cycle of unbridled enthusiasm followed by disappointment again in 10 months time with another HBC.
