The mere fact that his team is in the playoffs and he's out trying to find another team that will take him should tell you everything you should know. Why would you want a player that his own team doesn't find a need for him on their path to winning the playoffs?
Seen a pic of the longhorns message boards where someone posted they "feel that X's visit is just a courtesy visit and they feel he is solid with the UF camp, and that mom wanted UF. " take it for what its worth but I hope they're right.
Someone tell me why brooks isn't playing for his team who is in the playoffs? If he is as valuable as some want to believe than why are they not trying to get him to stay a couple lore weeks and win a natty with them?
he had an injury late in the year or at some point which change things and maybe he’s not completely healthy and wants to start his next chapter
Yet he ended up at Louisville. There something that made the better teams back off. Amd with the schollys being tight and us still trying to make room for the 'cruits and transfers not sure you take risks if there was one on him. Did you watch the acc champ game? FSU's best offensive player was out, I understand their reason but Louisville was healthy amd there was 18 punts, 4 turnover on downs, 1 INT and 1 missed fg. 24 possessions yielding 0 points. I doubt that performance by Louisville swayed Brooks. There's a reason he's not on a elite teams roster.
I would have took him (maybe not since he's is injured) but I as a fan also have not put any thought how I would get the numbers down below 85 with a roster already filled with 1st and 2nd year players. Nor do I have the injury prognosis for brooks assuming he still isn't playing because he's injured, maybe it isn't very positive. Donuou get rid of someone on the roster to take a chance on a injured transfer who may or may not be ready to contribute? As a fan I don't need to worry about all those other important details. Thank fully lol
Umm, I’d say Louisville is a better team than us and calling them not elite well maybe not but they were in the top 15 the entire year not like he’s going to a team that won’t be playing in a big-time bowl game. Not like he’s going to a team that won’t win at least eight or nine games next year. he would’ve stepped onto our roster and immediately been our number one or two… You don’t ignore talent that starts or plays a ton at Alabama in their first year to two years like he did
Even with a 20 man recruiting class if we keep those 20 kids… We will still have enough openings on roster that unless something changes with aggressiveness in the portal we will be filling scholarships with preferred walk ons again… most if not all would tell you the numbers are definitely way below 85 and we don’t need to “get rid of anyone” to take much needed portal kids. The numbers are what they are and there’s a reason we will be filling scholarship spots with preferred walk ons.
No, interestingly Travis came from there. “Former Texas Tech quarterback Tyler Shough is transferring to Louisville, he posted on social media Tuesday night. Shough, 24, will be a seventh-year senior who turns 25 next September and has played at both Oregon and Texas Tech since starting his college career in 2018.”
Prefer we save our spots for DL and OL, if talent in the portal we like is available. I think we get Mincey as well as highly regarded HS recruit.
